64 Districts, 64 X-Factors: Region 3

For a different type of season preview, I wanted to find one "X-Factor" in each of Kentucky's districts for this season. All 4 teams could win the region but for Catholic to get to Rupp Arena, Carothers needs to take the next step for the Aces. At 6'7, he's going to draw defensive matchups with the likes of [player_tooltip player_id='1543352' first='DeAaron' last='Watkins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2122448' first='Landon' last='Henning'] on a nightly basis and he'll need to hold his own. On the offensive end, Shouse needs to showcase his ability to score both inside and out. As long as he's not parked on the block and doesn't settle for threes, Hayden is capable of ripping and attacking the rim off the bounce. Losing [player_tooltip player_id='1479265' first='Lawson' last='Rice'] is a huge blow to them because of all the things he does for his team. His offense can be replaced but the rebounding and energy he plays with will have to be replicated by someone and I think Trever is capable of doing just that. Don't sleep on him making a splash for the Bears this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
