Sidwell Friends Academy Quakers (DC)
The defending MAC and DCSAA champions graduate a ton of depth but still have one of the best backcourts in the area in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1225257' first='Acaden' last='Lewis'], [player_tooltip player_id='1370500' first='Jalen' last='Rougier-Roane'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1370497' first='Caleb' last='Gillus']. Lewis has enjoyed one of the hottest summers in the country as a southpaw scorer that can fill it up from all 3 levels while facilitating well off the bounce. [player_tooltip player_id='1370500' first='Jalen' last='Rougier-Roane'] looks to carry some good positive momentum from his Team Canada experience to close out his Sidwell career on a high note as a versatile scorer that can also guard multiple spots. Gillus brings the defensive grit but also has polished his handle to get more paint touches while also knocking down 3s at a more consistent clip. McNamara transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1782594' first='Jalyn' last='Collingwood'] infuses some slashing, secondary ball-handling, and versatile defensive abilities into the Quaker's repertoire. [player_tooltip player_id='2610859' first='Joseph' last='Amprey IV'] and Harrison Keyser step into bigger roles off the bench while [player_tooltip player_id='2353562' first='Ian' last='Condon'] mans the low block as a sturdy play-finisher that can also step out and knock down 3s. Fully expect freshman PG [player_tooltip player_id='2453417' first='Jadah' last='Washington'] to earn minutes with the lockdown POA defense and play-making that he can provide to this team. A trio of young talent with size and diverse skillsets will look to carve out spots on varsity in [player_tooltip player_id='2610860' first='Omari' last='Pearson'] ('27), Eric Green ('28), and [player_tooltip player_id='2880853' first='Alex' last='Garrett'] ('27). Coach Singletary has several other intriguing young prospects that might be a year or so away from contributing at the varsity level but have a ton of upside in Jonah Ross ('27), Lucas Rose ('28), [player_tooltip player_id='2479607' first='Caden' last='Williams'] ('27), Lucas burns ('28) and Shaan Parikh ('28).

Gwynn Park Yellowjackets (MD)
Coach Garner heads into the 2024-2025 season with a retooled roster and a whole new starting five. Gwynn Park's young group will be led by a senior PG that can really fill it up from the perimeter in [player_tooltip player_id='2612701' first='Tristan' last='Jerry']. Fellow senior Lawrence Brooks will likely start alongside Jerry to provide a steadying presence that makes the right read, serves as a connector, takes charges, and guards at a high level. Incoming transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2494248' first='Abdul' last='Tarawally'] ('28) will likely serve as the go-to guy when the team needs a bucket while fellow transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2548898' first='Dwight' last='Strickland'] ('27) fills a need for the Hornets as an athletic slasher that can maximize his value with consistent defensive effort. 6'6 Carroll transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2548905' first='Angelo' last='Cunningham'] ('27) steps into a bigger role as a skilled W/F prospect that can knock down C+S looks and take bigs off the bounce. Gwynn Park won't be short on backcourt depth with a trio of PGs in [player_tooltip player_id='2548909' first='Dillon' last='Harley'] ('28), Kevin Bowie ('27), and [player_tooltip player_id='2453742' first='Derryc' last='Hale'] ('26) filling out the rotation as quick guards that get paint touches, score, and distribute. Senior guards Shukrani Magoma and Andre Osborne will provide some much-needed defense and shooting to round out a GP team that will look to compete for a PG County Championship.
