-The shooter had a productive season this year for the Quakers as a floor-spacer on the perimeter that worked on his body and his handle to cut down on turnovers in the halfcourt. Williams showed improvement as a connector on the perimeter that used his shooting gravity to hit rollers or throw skip passes to teammates. That productivity and development culminated in a deeeeeeep 3 just before the buzzer that sent Sidwell to the DCSAA championship game.

-Liked how the other parts of his game developed this season as a primary contributor for the JV team and in spot minutes for varsity. Williams understands how to find open gaps in the defense and has his footwork down pat coming off of screens for shots in the halfcourt. He shot above 45% from 3 in the HGSL season and shot 37% in his varsity opportunities this summer. With Sidwell’s starting backcourt moving on to the college level, he should play a much bigger role as a floor spacing shooter that could unlock opportunities for his teammates.

-Coach Singletary always keeps a shooter or two in the rotation to space the floor for the Quakers and Williams should fill that role nicely after a summer with Virginia Elite. An absolute sniper that can get off his shot in a hurry, he’s learning when to take the shot versus getting downhill to create– especially from the corners. How comfortable he is putting the ball on the floor and guarding his yard will be key to his usage.
