Updated 2026 Rankings: Guards (15-6)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The highly anticipated new edition of the class of 2026 rankings have finally been released, with over 140 players in the rankings, including over 40 new players to the list!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We'll take a look at positional rankings between guards, wings and big over the next week or so. Card is a talented guard who can fill it up in a lot of different ways whether it's attacking off the pick-and-roll, letting it fly from deep or getting out in transition to get to the rim, and he's also a good playmaker and defender as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>14) [player_tooltip player_id='1782688' first='Khaliq' last='Carson'] | 6'0” PG | Bishop Ireton (#36 Overall)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol class="wp-block-list"></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carson took one of the biggest leaps in these rankings, as he grew about 5 inches over the past couple of years and has shown he's one of the best floor generals in the DMV. He is a tough shot maker who can create space and knock down shots off the bounce from deep and in the midrange, he's dynamic in transition as both as a finisher and a playmaker and he's shown he isn't afraid of big matchups or big moments.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>12) [player_tooltip player_id='2301294' first='Akim' last='Iscandari'] | 6'0” PG | Potomac School (#32 Overall)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol class="wp-block-list"></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iscandari is set to have a huge junior season for a Potomac School program that is on the rise, and he's the straw that stirs the drink for them with his dynamic and productive play on both ends of the floor. He's a strong guard who plays well through contact when he gets downhill, he can hit shots from deep on and off the ball and he is a very good playmaker who consistently makes the right play look easy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9) [player_tooltip player_id='1782691' first='Jordan' last='Hunter'] | 6'1” PG | Paul VI (#24 Overall)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol class="wp-block-list"></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hunter is coming off a big summer with Team Takeover, and while it will be a crowded backcourt for a new look PVI group he'll find his way on the court with his ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. He's a natural scorer who has really improved on his catch-and-shoot ability, he can create space off the bounce and make tough shots from all three levels, he's a microwave scorer who can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches and he plays with a competitive chip on his shoulder too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>6) [player_tooltip player_id='1963392' first='Keon' last='Mitchell'] | 6'1” PG | Norview (#14 Overall)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol class="wp-block-list"></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mitchell has been the guy for Norview since he stepped foot on their floor as a freshman, and on an experienced group poised to make a big run this season he'll be looked at to lead them on both ends. He isn't built like most high school guards, as he's very strong both in his upper and lower body, allowing him to be physical on both ends of the floor. He's a great slasher who can use his strength to hold off shot blockers and finish, he can make shots from all over the court and he makes his teammates better as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
