We are about a month out from the OHSAA boys basketball regular season and we want to preview the top teams in each Division. In this article we'll take a look at the teams ranked 6-10 in our Division IV preseason rankings.

6. Maysville

After a miracle run to the state championship game, Maysville was an electric factory during the postseason last year. The Panthers graduate Alex Bobb but return 2026 studs [player_tooltip player_id='2386466' first='Gator' last='Nichols'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2386467' first='Jordyn' last='Watson']. I expect this team to be able to put up points in a hurry and they are the favorites in the MVL heading into this season.

7. Hawken

Despite getting a new head coach, continuity is key for Hawken as they'll rely on 2026 guards [player_tooltip player_id='2113257' first='Gregory' last='Price'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1705959' first='Daron' last='Hill'] once again this season. Few teams in Division IV have that type of scoring punch in the backcourt and they should be able to put the team on their back when needed this season.

8. Indian Hill

After finishing second in the Cincinnati Hills League last season, I expect Indian Hill to be even better this winter. With [player_tooltip player_id='2445452' first='William' last='Bennett'] ready to take the next step as an upperclassmen and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2194985' first='Rocco' last='DiSanto'] joining the mix, I think this will be one of the best small school teams in southwest Ohio.

9. Jonathan Alder

Despite losing Peyton Heiss to graduation, Jonathan Alder should once again be a tough out in the central Ohio playoff picture. With [player_tooltip player_id='1888354' first='Noah' last='Hess'] ready to take over the starring role and [player_tooltip player_id='2530669' first='Danny' last='Bentley'] projected to make an immediate impact as a freshman, Jonathan Alder will be tricky to defeat with their tough defense and prolific 3-point shooting.

10. Pomeroy Meigs

Getting [player_tooltip player_id='2426924' first='Carson' last='Davis'] to add to a team that was already a top squad in the TVC makes Meigs a team to watch in southeast Ohio this winter. They'll have the size and athleticism to match-up with anybody in the region during the playoffs and will usually have the best player on the court. That's a good recipe for competing in March.
