The basketball season slows down during the fall so I thought it would be the perfect time to show love to some athletes who make plays not just on the hardwood. In this article we'll take a look at some 2025 forwards who are getting it done in sports other than basketball.

The big lefty is a force on the hardwood for Little Miami as his size, frame and soft touch is tough to stop in the post. Sellers had some big games this summer on both the grassroots scene and with Little Miami in the month of June. It's not surprising looking at Sellers frame that he would be a talented baseball prospect, it's tough to find lefties with the frame and power that Sellers has.

Olentangy Orange has become one of the top public school athletic programs in the state of Ohio. With guys like Knupp, it's likely they'll have another winter and spring to remember. Knupp was named first team all-state for baseball and OCC player of the year. The Pioneers were district champions for baseball in 2024 after being state runner ups in 2023. Knupp was also a key piece to the Pioneers regional runner up on the hardwood as well.

Theado had a monster Junior season on the hardwood, averaging 18.3 PPG and 9.5 RPG. He became one of the most dominant interior scorers with his strength and power plus patient finishing ability. His athleticism is also on full display on the gridiron for a Bishop Watterson squad that might be the state title favorites in Division III.

When I first found out about Welter in June for La Salle, I was immediately impressed by his size, athleticism and hands. He was honestly a bit too good to be a total under the radar sleeper so when I saw he had Division I offers on the gridiron, it made sense why I hadn't been aware of his basketball talents. Welter was just offered by UTEP and he's currently fifth in the GCL-South in receiving yards.

Stubbs was a fun prospect to watch at the 15 U level due to his size and ability to play in the post. He was a mismatch due to his ability to score and beat the double team with the pass. I wasn't surprised when college football coaches started showing early interest in Stubbs and he committed to the Golden Gophers fairly early.

Another Minnesota football commit from northeast Ohio, Nimmo is a player I watched first at the 16 U level and knew basketball wouldn't be in his college future. Nimmo had an excellent frame for his age and was dominant in the post. Nimmo has had some monster games this Fall for 8-0 Lake Catholic as the Cougars are at the top of Division IV Region 13. He'll look to help lead Lake Catholic on another deep postseason run before joining Stubbs in the Big 10.

Kielmeyer has battled injuries which has kept him off the hardwood for a while but he's back on the gridiron making plays for Westerville South. The Northwestern commit has a great frame and moves well for his size, his soft hands also translate to the gridiron. Good to see Kielmeyer on the field making plays after seeing him out injured in the past.

One of the top quarterbacks in the country, Montgomery is committed to maybe the top college football program in the country in the Georgia Bulldogs. After a big Junior season, Montgomery suffered an ACL injury that required surgery and caused him to miss the remainder of his senior season. Best of luck to Montgomery in the SEC as he prepares to make a full recovery.
