I always find it fascinating to watch power conference football recruits on the hardwood and Stubbs is a dominant force on the interior for the Tigers. With soft hands and the ability to pass out of the post, Stubbs makes it hard to double-team him and is going to overpower an individual defender in the paint. This Cleveland Heights team has the experience to make some noise late in the year with Stubbs as a key player to watch.

Stubbs was a fun prospect to watch at the 15 U level due to his size and ability to play in the post. He was a mismatch due to his ability to score and beat the double team with the pass. I wasn’t surprised when college football coaches started showing early interest in Stubbs and he committed to the Golden Gophers fairly early.

Recently adding some football offers after a strong fall on the gridiron, Stubbs was back on the hardwood doing what he does best. One of the more skilled big men passers in the state, Stubbs would punish teams for double teaming him on the block. Knocking down a couple jumpers and getting easy layups while running the floor, Stubbs was a bright spot for a Cleveland Heights squad that had one of the longer trips to Lima of the 18 teams participating.

One of the highest ranked 2025 players on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Stubbs has already been named to an All-Tournament team this spring. His Mac basketball squad is high on my list of teams I need to see this weekend and it’ll be exciting to see which of his talented teammates make a name for themselves this weekend.

When you look out on the floor Stubbs immediately stands out. He is 6’7″ and probably 240+ pounds with really impressive footwork and mobility for his size. The versatile forward scored 17 points to lead MAC Boys Basketball 2025 to an easy win over Vision 2025 Select as they would go on to finish 2-0 on Saturday.

The 6-7 wing brought a lot of versatility in both games for MAC Boys Basketball 2025. Stubbs has all the tools to become a complete basketball player as he brought length, size and athleticism. He has a skillset of a guard and can defend multiple positions as well. Averaged 17.0 points per game on the day at the Grit Region Kick Off.

The prospect with the most varsity production as a freshman, Stubbs was a constant force on the inside for Trinity last season. Stubbs has a huge frame that’s a mismatch for smaller bodied big men. In an era of basketball where lots of players want to play on the perimeter and be mobile, Stubbs is an old school back to the basket big which works well at the high school and college level. Stubbs has good footwork and can pass the ball out of the post as well. It’ll be interesting to see how his body progresses throughout these next couple years and how he plays at Buchtel this winter while surrounded by athletic wings and guards.
