The Border League brought in over 200 teams and 64 of the top 125 players in the country played in it over the weekend. There were a ton of entertaining games, and some guys proved that they deserve to be playing college. The #1 recruit in the nation utilized his athleticism on both sides of the ball and made a number of highlight reel plays. In his game against Columbus, he scored 14 straight points for Utah Prep and finished the game with 28. The attention he draws on the offensive end also open things up for his teammates, and AJ is a willing passer. Although he is headed to college next year, he looks league ready.

Jaden Vance was a dynamic playmaker and shot maker for Utah Prep at The Border League. His 6'11 height, coordination and length allow him to snag rebounds with ease. He also knows how to time when he goes up with a dunk or for lay-up. Not many bigs have his combination of athleticism and offensive instincts.

Boozer is a cerebral player that acts almost as a coach on the floor with the way he commands his team. I was impressed by his footwork around the rim and he also has a nice looking jump shot. Expect him to be an impact player next year at Duke, he has the size and skill needed to contribute right away.

Staton's shot-blocking ability is game changing for his Sierra Vista squad. Although his team didn't get the win against Bishop O'Connell or Redemption Christian Academy, his efforts helped keep the game close. I also liked how rebounded the ball, and he made some nice looking shots at The Border League tournament as well. Staton is just over a week away from choosing between Stanford, BYU, Michigan, and UNLV.

The OTE small forward tore it up against LABC. He was draining 3 pointers, hitting turn around 2's, and got to the rim with ease. His athleticism was tough for any of his defenders to match. I also noted that he uses his length and height to disrupt shots on defense.

Knoll was in the paint fighting for rebounds in every game this weekend. Then in his game against Redemption Christian Academy, he found his shot and knocked down some 3's and tough shots around the rim. At the moment he is uncommitted. But I think he should start to pick up some interest due to his all around skill and hustle.

Jamier Jones was likely one of the best athletes that played in The Border League tournament. Jones had a Sportscenter Top 10 worthy play when he caught a rebound off the rim and all in one motion put down a reverse slam while he was still in the air. Jones is also an elite scorer and passer.

There were a ton of entertaining games, and some guys proved that they deserve to be playing college. I spent most of my time watching the games that were taking place at Coronado High School and Desert Pines.
