Clark jumped out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter thanks to their unselfishness and focus. They were moving the ball around, and Legacy's defense had a difficult time disrupting their flow.

In the second quarter, Clark's offense didn't slow down, putting another 20 points on the board. While Legacy added 17 of their own, they still lost more ground, and it was 41-28 Chargers at the break.

Then in the third quarter, Legacy looked to settle in and play more of their game. But they had some costly turnovers, which allowed Clark to stay in front by a comfortable margin.

Heading into the fourth quarter, it was 58-47. Things nearly got interesting after Legacy cut it to an eight-point game with about six minutes left. But Clark responded with another run, and suddenly they were up 16. At that point, Legacy was essentially out of gas.

The Chargers then closed things out to win the NIAA 4A Southern Region Championship, 77-62.

Both teams will now head up to Spanish Springs to compete for the State Championship. Clark is set to face Reno in the semifinals on Friday at 8 PM, while Legacy will take on Bishop Manogue at 4:40 PM.

[player_tooltip player_id='2418885' first='Devan' last='Christion'] gave the Longhorns issues throughout the game with his size. On offense, he was a playmaker around the rim. Scoring off of putbacks, dunks, and layups. On the other end of the court, Christion made opponents think twice about going up with it. And he crashed the glass consistently. The Akron commit will now head up north to potentially battle against some of the other top bigs in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2637173' first='CJ' last='Edwards'] made the defense pay with his jumper and free-throw shooting in the 4A Southern Region Final. Defensively, he swarmed Legacy's ball-handlers and stayed active with his hands, not allowing them to make easy passes.

His deceptive moves and burst helped him slip around defenders, and they often had no choice but to foul him to keep him from getting all the way to the rack. He converted nine of his free throw attempts and finished with 11 points for the Chargers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2286675' first='Sir' last='Montgomery'] was valuable on both ends of the court yesterday for the Chargers. On defense, he covered ground at a rapid rate and got in his opponents' grills throughout the contest. On offense, Montgomery knocked down a 3, hit four free throws, and dropped in a layup. Overall, it was a complete performance from the reliable sophomore.

[player_tooltip player_id='2288366' first='Jordyn' last='Perdue'] was effective for Legacy thanks to his offensive rebounding, strong drives, and he buried a 3 at the end of the first half. In addition to his scoring, he was competing with intensity on defense and I liked how he played hard all 4 quarters. Although his season is now over, he proved a lot this year and might just be a stock riser in the next rankings update.

From there, he continued to hunt shots on offense and knocked down a three along with a few more finishes inside. On the defensive end, he gave a strong effort and played physical when needed. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, Jeffries was impactful and will look to help his squad regroup heading into state.
