The first initial rankings for the 2028 class starts at 90. This is obviously always the most difficult class to rank since so much change will go from now until 2028. Over the next four years I will track these players and obviously add to it once players are discovered.

From the #1 player to the last player ranked, there will most likely be a lot of change. Players will dramatically grow and just naturally improve their skill and their athleticism will kick in hopefully. Size isn't everything but it is definitely a factor determining players future levels. Some will shine despite never cracking the 6-foot mark in four years, where some will struggle even though they may be six-foot six+.

EVERY player is different and they have their OWN path to trying to play college basketball. (If that is their ultimate goal).

If you see your ranking and think it is way off, just simply put in the work and get better. Trust me, these rankings won't be like this in four years from now, but it is a good sounding board to know where I stand NOW and where I want to BE.

We try projecting from four years from now, which is obviously a tough task, but you try and be as reasonable as you can.

**Early offers are not as important as getting offers your junior and senior seasons when college coaches are actually legally allowed to talk to the players.

This class has a little size with the initial rankings.

There are 29 players who are six foot-three or taller starting off including 15 who are six foot-five or taller.

That being said, of the 90 ranked, we have 34 PG's, which is the biggest group by a lot.

Our goal at PrepHoopsAZ is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, Arizona Top-250 EXPO, my personal Southwest Basketball Camp and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/EYBL/EIBC/Grind Session seasons.

https://prephoops.com/arizona/rankings/2028-rankings/

Notes:

1. Three players have earned a D1 offer before even playing a single game in high school with [player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] of Williams Field, [player_tooltip player_id='1651788' first='Jakyi' last='Miles'] of Mesa and [player_tooltip player_id='2194481' first='Justin' last='Kimbrough'] of Mountain Pointe.

2. Mountain Pointe has four players ranked in the initial Top-25, Pinnacle has three and then Willow Canyon, Supreme Academy. Williams Field, Basha and The Valley Prep all have two each.

3. There are 4 Tucson players ranked in the initial top-45 including [player_tooltip player_id='2506445' first='Traveon' last='Banks'] of Tucson and [player_tooltip player_id='2628288' first='Lucas' last='Anderson'] of Ironwood Ridge.

4. Three players from non prep schools or big 6A/5A schools are ranked in the Top-25 with [player_tooltip player_id='2457665' first='Viktor' last='Babic'] of ALA-Gilbert North, [player_tooltip player_id='2625965' first='Kaii' last='Voogd'] of San Tan Charter and [player_tooltip player_id='2386974' first='Nasir' last='Hailey'] of Saguaro.

5. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.

6. Of the 90 players we have 34 PG's, 11 SG's, 15 CG's, 18 SF's, 8 PF's and only 4 C's.

The first initial rankings for the 2028 class starts at 90. This is obviously always the most difficult class to rank since so much change will go from now until 2028. Over the next four years I will track these players and obviously add to it once players are discovered.
