The month of September I spent 3-4 nights at the AZ Compass Fall League. It is a nice combination of some top AIA teams combined with some of the best prep schools in Arizona.

Here were some of the 2027-29 Standout Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='2802608' first='Liam' last='Mitakaro'] Bella Vista Prep (Pictured)

A bigger PG can score it every way with catch threes in bunches, quick dribbles by his defenders and dimes every teammate with drive and kicks, pick and roll ropes and makes basic passes look effortless off of a live dribble or jump passes. He is a really good defender on the ball with very quick hands and feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] Millennium

One of the top players in the AIA did it all in their win. He score 25+ points with scoring from all three levels plus seeing the court well. He will score with fall aways, high level dunks on the break, catch threes, offensive rebound put backs and he is a mid-range stud with high elevation. He also will collect steals and block shots in bunches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV'] Higley

The top freshman in the class showed off his skills in the fall league. He has a tighter handle and will make passes up the court and drive and kick it for assists. He scores it every way with driving layups, threes off the catch or dribble with range, floaters, step backs, fall aways and slips thru the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1893678' first='Chris' last='King'] Phhoenix Prep

A hyper athletic defensive guard can score. He seems to fly on the break and score with tough layups or high level dunks in transition. He is a super quick second jumper to get on the glass and takes contact well despite his leaner frame. He will hit the three off the catch and he is a sneaky good passer. He scored the second most points on the day with 28 points when I viewed one of his games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium

A scoring lead guard will score with mid-range pull-ups, threes off the catch and spray the ball around for assists with pocket passes and up the court. He is quick on the ball to collect steals and will score it in transition. His ability to handle the heavy pressure helps out Diggs and Holmes a ton.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950104' first='Jonathan' last='Mercado'] Chandler

A scoring lead guard can thread it in to his teammates to make a play and he will go on his own personal runs to score. He will shoot it from the three with deep range and ball fake and shoot it from mid-range. He will also collect steals and lay it in.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767188' first='Aaron' last='Smith'] Chandler

A bigger scoring guard will score with floaters, perimeter jumpers and downhill quick takes. He is a good passer and moves the ball and plays unselfishly. He will defend on-the-ball and bring some energy to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2052368' first='Makhi' last='Anthony'] Phhoenix Prep

A pure point guard is the teams maestro. He will always have his head up trying to make a play for a teammate. He will score with perimeter jumpers and quick drives with his tighter handle. He is also quick on the ball defensively. Their team is undefeated and he was one of the reasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='2639654' first='Kaden' last='Adams'] Higley

A freshman sharp shooter comes off the bench and fires away. When big Mike has to sit 9 games, don't be surprised if Adams is the one starting for the nine games in the beginning of the year with his skill, feel and just pure shot making abilities off the catch or pull from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767184' first='Tahli' last='El-Amin'] Chandler

Another scoring lead guard comes in off the bench and he can score it quickly. He hit multiple shots and made some plays. He shoots the three off the catch and can rattle them in one by one. He is very elusive and quick with the ball and can get a step on his defender to the basket.

The month of September I spent 3-4 nights at the AZ Compass Fall League. It is a nice combination of some top AIA teams combined with some of the best prep schools in Arizona.
