October is nearly over, meaning that New Jersey varsity tryouts are about a month away. The 2028 class has yet to play a varsity game, but the excitement around the group is palpable. Here are the 2028 Non-Public B prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504780' first='Infinite' last='Sincere'], 6'0 Immaculate Conception

Sincere joins a talented Lions' backcourt that is looking to repeat as sectional champions. The 6'0 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Sincere has a good touch on his floater and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated passer and is able to get deflections on the defensive end. Sincere picked up an offer from NJIT earlier this month and is looking to expand his offer sheet this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504904' first='Izayah' last='Cooper'], 6'0 CG St. Rose

Cooper has the ability to play on and off the ball, which will help his development. The 6'0 guard has a quick first step as defenders struggle to keep him out of the lane and can finish through contact. Cooper moves well without the ball in his hands and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. He finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and is a tough on-ball defender. Cooper's ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his stock throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504901' first='Donovan' last='Spross'], 5'8 PG St. Joseph (Hamm.)

Spross joins his brother [player_tooltip player_id='2623176' first='Will' last='Spross'] in the Wildcats' backcourt, and it will be interesting to see how the younger Spross transitions to the varsity game. The 5'8 guard plays with composure on the ball as he rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure and can thread passes to his teammates in the halfcourt. Spross knows how to finish around the basket and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He sets his feet before he shoots and pushes the pace in transition. Spross has the opportunity to play on and off the ball this season, which will be key for his development during the 2024-25 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194748' first='Bryce' last='Scott'], 5'9 CG Roselle Catholic

Scott has the opportunity to break into the Lions' lineup as they lost three of their top five scorers from last season. The 5'9 guard knows how to get to his spot on the floor and has a nice touch in the mid-range. Scott is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He slides his feet on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Scott's ability to score inside and out is something that will help his game throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2397968' first='Connor' last='Junker'], 5'8 PG Gill St. Bernard's

Junker is a gritty guard prospect who will look to crack into the Knights' lineup early. The 5'8 guard has a solid handle, which he uses to get into the paint and make plays. Junker rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands and finishes nicely around the basket. He is good on-ball defender and wastes little motion in his release. Junker is a tough guard prospect whose ability to run the offense will be something to track throughout the course of the season.
