Starting off the 2025 Class 3A Elite 8 [player_tooltip player_id='1276361' first='Brian' last='Sumpter'] of Keenan High School, who are in 3A Region 4. Sumpter is the only Top 10 Player in the Class and is the only committed player in this list. The Raiders had some struggles last year in the Regular Season before getting hot down the stretch and making it to the 2A Upper State Championship. In 2023-24, Sumpter was second on the team in scoring at 12.3 Points Per Game while also adding a stagger 9.4 Rebounds Per Game and 2.5 Blocks Per Game. Brian has tremendous length and great instincts in protecting the rim. On the offensive end, he is at his best working in the paint but he also has good qualities stretching the floor and creating off the dribble. Sumpter committed to Wofford College on September 14th.

Although there is a big gap in the rankings between the #1 and #2 2025 Prospects in Class 3A, don't think there is a talent deficiency in this class. [player_tooltip player_id='1766181' first='Jaleel' last='McGee'] was a vital part of the Patriots squad that won the 3A State Championship last year averaging 11.3 Points Per Game, tied with [player_tooltip player_id='2299729' first='Von' last='Burton'] for second-highest on the team. McGee also averaged over 2.5 Assists and 2.5 Steals Per Game in 2023-24. Jaleel excels in transition where he can get a head of steam towards the basket and finish through contact or half-court pick-and-roll sets where he can get the defense moving around and probe for holes. McGee will have the ball in his hands a lot again for the Patriots this year and when that happens good things usually follow.

Next up is [player_tooltip player_id='1239534' first='Bryson' last='Drummond'], a two-sport star who transferred to the first-year school Mountain View Prep. Drummond is the starting Quarterback for the Stars and will likely be their starting Point Guard come basketball season. Bryson has a strong frame and a great ability to read defenses to make the right play, two attributes that transfer over from the football field. Drummond is also capable of getting important buckets when his team needs them, as he did on several occasions throughout his time at Greenville High School. Bryson holds a football offer from Erskine.

Oceanside Collegiate is my personal favorite to win Class 3A this season and Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2429724' first='Ty'Rek' last='Dawson'] is an important piece to their puzzle. After falling in the 2A State Championship last season, the Landsharks were reclassified to 3A and will start in 3A Region 6. Dawson can play either position in the backcourt and with good positional length he is a tough defender on smaller guards. He will also crash the glass hard and look to push the pace in transition. Ty'Rek has a good pull-up game and can finish around the rim with either hand too.

I got eyes on [player_tooltip player_id='1672080' first='Ralphier' last='Monroe'] for the first time during the Scholastic Period this June and instantly loved what I saw. He plays for Marlboro County High School in 3A Region 5. Monroe averaged 8.8 Points Per Game in his Junior Year but I think he should be a double-digit scorer for certain this year. Ralphier is a wing with great athleticism and a very long frame. He is stronger than he appears and can finish through contact or pull up off the dribble in the mid-range. Most of what I have seen Monroe do on offense is with the ball in his hands, but his skill in knocking down jump shots would contribute to him being playable as a 2 or a 3 in College.

Next up is the other of the two Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks in the 2025 Class 3A Elite 8, [player_tooltip player_id='1206020' first='Carson' last='Jones']. Jones hit a growth spurt before the start of last season and the jump shooting continued to be a key part of his game. He can release over most matchups but also has the ability to put the ball on the ground and finish at the rim. Carson has a high IQ and does all the little things, as most Landsharks do, to help win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2299729' first='Von' last='Burton'] is the second Powdersville Patriot who makes the 2025 Class 3A Elite 8. Burton averaged 11.4 Points Per Game while shooting over 50% FG to help them win the 3A State Championship. Burton is a solid two-way prospect who makes a difference on both ends of the floor, crashes the glass, and flies in transition. He has a good handle and will get some usage as a backup PG for Powdersville this year. Von also has a strong frame which allows him to guard 1-3 and some smaller 4s as well. He will be a wild card for the Patriots in Region 2 in 2024-25.

I recently got to check out [player_tooltip player_id='2299737' first='Adam' last='Brown'] at the Hardwood Inc. Fall League and he was a standout, showing good progression heading into his Senior Season. Brown is a two-time State Champion with Christ Church, who was reclassified from Class 1A to Class 3A and placed in 3A Region 2. He led the Cavs with 14 Points in the Championship Game and averaged 12 Points Per Game on the season while shooting 55% from the field and 41% from behind the arc. Adam is aggressive in attacking the rim, deceptively strong, crashes the glass on both sides, and can spot-up on the perimeter. He will be a key player on the wing again for the Cavaliers, particularly if they can compete in their first year in a new class.
