Oceanside Collegiate is my personal favorite to win Class 3A this season and Guard is an important piece to their puzzle. After falling in the 2A State Championship last season, the Landsharks were reclassified to 3A and will start in 3A Region 6. Dawson can play either position in the backcourt and with good positional length he is a tough defender on smaller guards. He will also crash the glass hard and look to push the pace in transition. Ty’Rek has a good pull-up game and can finish around the rim with either hand too.

Dawson helped the Landsharks get to the Class 2A State Championship Game before falling to rival Gray Collegiate Academy. The Landsharks are playing in Class 3A this season.
Dawson a combo guard really likes to use a floater to the basket when he isn’t finishing buckets with either hand at the rim. Ty’Rek takes pride in playing defense and drawing always the toughest assignment on the other team.

Like Atkins, Dawson was important to his team’s success in a Bracket Championship Game today. Ty’Rek and the Landsharks won their second-straight Sizzlin’ Summer Shootout Gold Bracket Championship and he posted 11 Points in the win. He had several clutch buckets down the stretch including an impressive finish through contact to increase the lead to double-digits. Ty’Rek has a smooth game on the offensive end with a good floater and the ability to finish with their hand. Dawson also worked hard on the defensive end as the primary defender on Greer’s best player as well as hauling in 8 Rebounds.
