The Coronado 6'6 shooter was dominant on Thursday night. Abittan racked up 22 points in efficient fashion and had 3 steals as well. He knocked down two 3 pointers and showcased his ability to get downhill with the ball. In the second half he threw down an eye popping slam dunk. The Cougars will be a difficult team to beat this year with Abittan on the court.

Udom did a little bit of everything to help his team get the win over Spring Valley. He was a monster on the boards, took a charge, and hit two 3 pointers. I also noticed that he was moving off ball on offense and he goes hard to the rim when given the chance. If he can continue to play at a high level, there should be a few colleges that start to take notice.

Green Valley had their hands full against a talented Coronado team, but Zumaya still managed to have a pretty decent game. The combo guard converted on a number of tough lay-ups. He also found his teammates for open shots after a few of his drives. I think that he can easily average 20 points per game this season for the Gators, especially if he gets to the free throw line.

Nasir Greene was not on my radar before the game, but his athleticism caught my eye. The long power forward used his vertical to block a few shots and had a dunk as well. Overall he is a quality defender and I liked how he competed. Spring Valley did not get the win but he helped keep them in it.

Lide lit it up for the Rams on Thursday night and made it a competitive game against a very athletic Gorman squad. He had two runs where he scored 10 straight points and 13 straight points for Rancho. His ability to hunt buckets and hit deep threes is incredibly fun watch. He'll be up there as one of the top scorers this year.
