Seven of the top overall performers I saw yesterday at The Expo!

There aren't many players in the metro area who can heat up quicker than Marcus. Once he sees a couple of threes drop, he can just take a game over. In the game I watched Marcus showcased a shifty handle to beat his initial defender, and was getting to the rim early and often for high percentage finishes at the rim. That quick burst started to force defenders to sag off him a bit, and he took advantage draining a handful of second half 3's. Could put up some big scoring numbers this winter for Jefferson.

Ibrahim may have been the hardest working player I saw all day, and was likely the best shot blocker as well. He just never stops working, constantly fighting for rebounds, moving his feet with smaller wings, and battling for low post position. Was able to outrun opposing bigs for a handful of transition dunks, and flashed some handle and fluidity to weave through defenders on his way to the rim. Gritty forward with some upside as you can see some perimeter skill starting to show.

Azayah just has another gear that not many players can match when he shifts to it. He was effortlessly flying by defenders to get to the rim, and was a flash in transition. Defenders are constantly stepping off to try to prevent the drive, so Azayah was just pulling up for threes with comfort, and knocked them down at a high percentage in game one. He's a big number scoring during the winter, but I liked how he wasn't forcing his game and looked to get his teammates involved on Sunday.

Not only was Gavin extremely productive on Sunday, but he did so with unmatched efficiency. He knew what spots he wanted to get to, and he got to them off limited dribbles to score. Soft touch scoring with a floater, but he has the explosive burst to go right at the rim and finish through contact as well. Threw down a pair of dunks and showcased the versatility to defend a number of spots on the other end.

As has already been discussed across Twitter and a couple other articles, Elvis came out to compete yesterday. Park Center is once again loaded with talent, so I'm not sure how much of the ball Elvis will have during the winter, but the way he competed yesterday has me thinking he could carve out a role as a 3&D type of player. Just pressures the ball hard, fights to get over screens, and sprints the floor in transition. Wasn't forcing his shot on offense, but was still able to put up numbers by picking his moments to shoot and connecting at a high percentage.

CJ was one of the more "high profile" prospects coming into the event, as he's scored more in one season than many players will score in their entire basketball careers, but that didn't stop him from competing. Even in the final game of the day, CJ went leaping over a bench trying to save a loose ball, and was attacking the rim with a purpose. So crafty using his length to finish in a number of ways when he gets to the rim.

Mohamed has a big frame at 6'5, and he's not afraid to use it. He knows who he is as a prospect, and rather than thinking he's a wing like a lot of players 6'5+ do, he was going at opposing forwards in the paint and finishing at a high level. Showed impressive footwork on the block, with the strength to power his way to the basket and the touch to hit a turnaround jumper over length. Was a presence on the offensive glass as well.
