SAN DIEGO — Some of the top high school basketball prospects in the country descended on Montgomery high school in San Diego over the weekend to compete in the Avance L'Attitude Classic. The field included the likes of AJ Dybantsa (Utah Prep), [player_tooltip player_id='1301714' first='Cameron' last='Boozer'] (Columbus), [player_tooltip player_id='1301715' first='Cayden' last='Boozer'] (Columbus) and JJ Mandaquit (Utah Prep), among other highly-recruited players from Southern California and beyond. In Sunday's championship game, Columbus defeated Utah Prep, 95-76, paced by [player_tooltip player_id='1301714' first='Cameron' last='Boozer'] ‘s virtuoso 42-point, 15-rebound and five assists performance. In this piece we dive into the top shooters we saw during Sunday's action.

AJ Dybantsa | 2025 | Utah Prep (UT)

Dybantsa was the top overall scorer on the day and, despite falling short to Columbus in the championship game, he showed why he is one of the best basketball prospects in the world. The 6-foot-9 wing scored an event-high 43 points on 14-for-23 from the field and 8-for-13 from three-point range. Dybantsa is one of the more explosive athletes I have seen in person and his ability to elevate over the top of defenders on his jump shot makes what should be a highly-contested shot a virtually uncontested one. Dybantsa's shiftiness off the bounce allowed him to get by high-level defenders with ease and his finishing ability in space is unguardable.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301714' first='Cameron' last='Boozer'] | 2025 | Columbus (FL)

While Dybantsa might be considered the most explosive prospect in his class, Boozer, in my opinion, is the most well-rounded basketball player I've seen among U.S. prospects. The 6-foot-9 forward has no limitations on his game and it showed with his 42-point, 15-rebound, 5-assist and 5-block performance in a dominant championship game win over Utah Prep. The senior scored in every way imaginable and did it on an efficient 15-for-23 from the field and 11-for-15 from the free throw line. Boozer combination of skill, physicality, motor, fundamental toolbox and willingness to make winning plays has allowed him to be a winner at the highest levels of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301715' first='Cayden' last='Boozer'] | 2025 | Columbus (FL)

Yes, we already included [player_tooltip player_id='1301715' first='Cayden' last='Boozer'] in our Best Playmakers piece from this event, but his 30-point and 9-assist effort also earned him a spot here. The 6-foot-5 point guard pulls all the right strings for Columbus - whether it's scoring, setting up his brother and teammates, or taking on the defensive assignment of guarding Dybantsa - the senior steps up to the challenge in every scenario and is a winning player at the highest levels because of it. The most impressive number of Boozer's statistical output Sunday was "2," the number of turnovers he had in 32 minutes of action with ball in his hands seemingly 90 percent of the time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896215' first='Devin' last='Hamilton'] | 2025 | Montgomery

It's probably a good feeling for [player_tooltip player_id='1896215' first='Devin' last='Hamilton'] to see his name on a list with the likes of Dybantsa and the Boozer twins and his 23-point, 10-rebound effort in Montgomery's win over The Embassy earned him a spot here. The 6-foot-4 wing is a fast-improving prospect whose combination of strength, athleticism and speed make him nightmare for defenses to deal with when he's attacking downhill in transition and half-court offense. The senior uses his athletic tools to get by defenders and finish through or above contact at the rim. His high motor and physicality make him a high level offensive and defensive rebounder.
