We released our updated Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings right at the end of June. That was a very busy period of time fresh off of the Charlie Hughes Showcase and heading into the July grassroots season. Due to the busy schedule at the time, we at Prep Hoops Indiana feel like our rankings content, generally some of our most popular, didn't get the attention that it deserves. Therefore, we will spend this quieter period in August to revisit our rankings content beginning here with the Class of 2027. First, we will simply re-releaseed the Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings themselves. Now we have turned our focus to other content including additional summer stock-risers, new names, under-the-radar Watch List prospects, and much more. Here are eight prospects on the Watch List that you need to know heading into their sophomore seasons.

Kirk first came onto the scene by performing well at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase in August of 2023. That put him on the radar heading into his high school career. Noblesville is always loaded without talent, so the 6'0" guard will be waiting his turn in the backcourt, but he will undoubtedly be a good varsity player down the road.

There is a quite a bit of talent coming through southern Indiana in these younger classes. Lindemann was among the most productive at the varsity level as a freshman averaging 9.4 points per game at Corydon Central. Most impressively, the 5'10" guard connected on 51 three-point shots while shooting 38.6% form deep. That shooting ability will continue to make him one of the best shooters in the class going forward.

Look for Loyd to play a role in Terre Haute North's backcourt this season. The Patriots won over 20 games last season, but graduated a good amount of production. Luckily, they have a strong core of young talent, including Loyd, to start replacing what they lost. He is a true point guard that you can trust with the ball in his hands.

One of the two talented Mckee twins at New Albany High School. The left-handed point guard is very smooth with the ball in his hands showcasing a tight handle and very quick change of direction. he has a great right-to-left crossover that he uses to get into the teeth of the defense. One to follow in the years to come.

One of the two talented Mckee twins at New Albany High School. Reece is a right-handed guard while his brother, Ashton, is left-handed. He shoots the ball very well from beyond the arc showcasing the skill to play either guard spot. His shot-creation ability with the ball in his hands, but also while spacing the floor off the ball, really stands out when watching him. Should create a dynamic backcourt down the road next to his brother.

Miller has good size on the wing with some athletic and physical tools that make him a tough matchup for his peers on the perimeter. The 6'3" wing did some good things through the summer months and is blossoming into a versatile two-way prospect. Avon is going to be loaded with talent this coming season, but Miller is definitely a name to remember for the future.

Back at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase nearly a year ago, Moore was a standout with his impressive physical size and strength on the wing for a young prospect. The 6'3" wing is a talented three-sport athlete that should grow into a role at some point in the future at Zionsville.

There is no denying the upside of this prospect from Guerin Catholic. Already standing 6'6"-6'7" with impressive length, Murans has a very projectable frame as he continues to grow into his body and add physicality. Assuming he follows a similar progression as his brother, Dylan, who is headed to play basketball at Army, you can expect see the younger Murans blossom into a potential Division I prospect as well.

One of the better southern Indiana prospects that you may not have heard of yet, this Forest Park High School product has flown under-the-radar a bit to this point. He has excellent size, isn't afraid to bully smaller defenders inside, but then has enough ball skill and fluid mobility to operate away from the basket. Partenheimer got his feet wet at the varsity level as a freshman and should blossom into a larger role this winter.

We already know this Chesterton High School guard to be one of the best shooters in Indiana's Class of 2027. He proved it once again through the spring and summer playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 15u on the UA Rise circuit where they experienced a good deal of success. His quick release and sound footwork on the perimeter really stand out. Ray will be a high percentage shot-maker throughout his high school career.
