Portland State held its annual elite camp this past Friday and many of the state's top players came ready to play. It was a solid afternoon of action at the Viking Pavilion and we had the opportunity to watch much of the competition. After looking at our own notes and talking to others who also observed, here's a look at some of the top playmakers in attendance - the guys that simply made things happen on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2348753' first='Colin' last='Cordle'] (2025 South Albany) - the outside shot wasn't clicking as much but the rising senior was taking it strong to the hole and finishing over and through defenders, whether it was attackng in the half court or getting out in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1910908' first='D'Ryus' last='Dent'] (2025 Roosevelt) - has become more of a knockdown shooter this off-season, but focused on getting to the rim for scores at camp. tough, physical player that also was effective rebounding the ball and on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2026057' first='Braylon' last='Gaines'] (2027 Nelson) - one of the top passers in camp, the rising sophomore looked to get to the basket and draw contact as usual but was also just as apt to dish it to teammates for scores. had good control of the flow of the game when the ball was in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2026486' first='Keone' last='Gates'] (2027 Grant) - perhaps one of the top eye-openers for all those in attendance, the rising sophomore was super quick with his first step and shifty handles. he got to wherever he wanted to past defenders and was devastating in transition. nailed some open jumpers from deep as well and was given consideration for the All-Camp Team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1368276' first='Cole' last='Hammack'] (2025 Wilsonville) - rock-solid play from the rising senior, as we have come to expect every time we watched him this summer whether it was with his AAU squad or new high scohol team, Wilsonville. he equally looked to score and set up teammates and played relatively turnover-free basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421603' first='Eli' last='Hopkins'] (2027 Oregon City) - the up-and-coming rising sophomore was very aggressive offensively, getting a number of buckets around the basket while absorbing contact. looked confident stroking the ball from the outside as well and was a multi-level threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='2026059' first='Jayden' last='Reyes'] (2027 Mountainside) - as one of the younger and smaller players in the event, the rising sophomore wasn't intimated in the least. he took advantage of the limited opportunities he had with the ball to make plays for others as well as hit a couple of shots for himself.

[player_tooltip player_id='1368274' first='Cruz' last='Veliz'] (2025 Woodburn) - great command of the floor whenever he had the ball and dished out some of the prettiest-looking dimes in camp. made tremendous decisions in transition and was sharp with his shooting, both from deep and off the dribble.
