I talked about what Jaquan did at DMVlive for PVI and how it was a little bit of a coming-out party. Jaquan was fantastic all summer for Team Takeover as well. His aggressiveness and confidence as a scorer have been impressive. He comes into this fall/winter poised to take a massive leap with added responsibility on a PVI team with a lot of new faces. Jaquan also recently committed to Towson, which should be a terrific fit for him.

One of the biggest risers this summer was West Potomac big [player_tooltip player_id='2148742' first='Liam' last='Koelsch']. Liam's overall understanding and feel for the game are terrific, and he is using his size productively on both ends. Liam has gotten stronger, and he does a great job rebounding. He has been dunking the ball like crazy and looks like one of the best bigs in NOVA. I've always loved what Liam brings on the defensive side of the ball, so it's good that has kept that consistent with what he has been doing offensively. He had huge performances for West Potomac in the Hammerzone Summer League and some solid performances with NOVA Cavs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242429' first='Anderson' last='Krisko'] is a player I watched a lot this summer, and two things always stand out to me about him: physicality and skill. Anderson throws his body around in the paint and gets good position to get the ball and finish out the post. Anderson can knock down jump shots and has a high IQ. Anderson is an active defender and will have a great year for Marshall.

The rise of Ashton Graves started earlier than Summer, but he is now one of the top guard talents in the DMV for 2027. Ashton, on numerous occasions, has shown out against some of the most elite players in the area. Whether that is at showcases like the Locked in showcase a few weeks ago or AAU events for New World he has been outstanding. I saw Ashton play for John Champe last year and felt it was only a matter of time before he left to play against nationally ranked talent. He is an amazing perimeter defender and an elite driver with high-level athleticism. He has excellent size for a guard, and I am excited to see what he does at Carroll this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2301294' first='Akim' last='Iscandari'] showed out for both [program_tooltip program_id='2390411' first='Team' last='AKT'] and Potomac School this summer against high-level competition. He had a terrific showing for [program_tooltip program_id='2390411' first='Team' last='AKT'] in Atlantic City and was great in a couple of the Hoop Group events they were at. At session 2 of DMVlive Akim was one of the best guards there, and you saw what makes him one of the best 2026 guards in the state. His speed and athletic ability help him be almost impossible to stay in front of. He is a great finisher and a good passer. He will pick up opposing guards from half-court and smother them. Akim was unranked a year ago, but now he's fully arrived as a premier talent in the state.

There may have not been a bigger winner from DMVlive than [player_tooltip player_id='1340929' first='Austin' last='Williford']. He racked up a bunch of big offers from the event and was one of the best players there. Austin shot the ball well and showed what he can do as the first option. Austin was terrific for Team Takeover as well, and he left this summer as one of my biggest risers. Austin can play either guard position at this level, but I think he will be more of a two at the next level. He is a fantastic defender and one of the best two-way guards in the state.
