This 2027 class is DEEP with talent. It's so very early in their careers and there are already 8 players in the class who hold D1 offers. With them only entering their Sophomore seasons, there is a lot of volatility in the rankings and we have had some players move way up the list in this update. Here's a breakdown of the top Small Forwards and Power Forwards in the latest update. This does not include and players who are in the top ten of the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1745594' first='Maddox' last='Hager'] is a rarity in Kentucky in the sense that he quit playing basketball at Boyle before Christmas then returned to play AAU in the spring. Hager is a skilled big on the court and already holds several power 5 offers as a tight end in football. If he ends up rejoining the team at Boyle County, they'll have a chance to win the 12th region.

Woodford County's [player_tooltip player_id='2046737' first='Thurman' last='Wade'] is a very athletic wing who has potential as a 3 and D wing in basketball. Like Hager, Wade is a two sport star who has a chance to be a scholarship level player on the gridiron.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326410' first='Armani' last='Byrd'] could have the most long term potential of anyone on this list. Likely the youngest, Byrd is young for a 2027 and is likely not done growing. Armani can shoot and does so with deep range. Coming off his latest growth spurt, Byrd is also playing above the rim now. Definitely buy some [player_tooltip player_id='2326410' first='Armani' last='Byrd'] stock and hang on to it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2122607' first='Nolan' last='Coffman'] is a long/big forward who plays inside and out. Coffman plays hard and does the things that his team needs to win. Nolan recently transferred from Madisonville to Lyon County and should have plenty of opportunity to break out this season for the defending state champs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241685' first='Roman' last='Combs'] is another two sport star whose star may shine brighter as a football player but is super athletic and can make plays in both sports. Combs has grown a little and started to fill out. He likely will need to move to the wing and out of the post so he can reach his long term potential on the hardwood.

[player_tooltip player_id='1745586' first='Caleb' last='Rimmer'] is working to avoid the dreaded labels of "undersized post" or "tweener" as he is working his way to become a wing, full time. Rimmer is very solid and plays really hard. Between now and the season, he should be working on ball handling and three point shooting as he has a really bright future and his will have more options if he's a big wing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2127278' first='Luke' last='Armstrong'] is overlooked at Calloway County but he can score inside and out and is one of the best 2027s in the first region. Luke will be the fourth option for the Lakers this season but is going to have to be the man for his Junior and Senior seasons at Calloway.

[player_tooltip player_id='2046739' first='Joe' last='Smith'] is in line for a big role for North Laurel this season and they need him to step up and provide some quality wing depth. Smith was the MVP of 8th grade state two years ago and should get a chance to contribute at the varsity level in a big way this year.
