2026 Review: Elite Perimeter Shooters

Their performances throughout recent months have continued to garner attention.    A hard nosed guard who shows up in big moments, particularly clutch situations, Wells remains a highly intriguing athlete heading into his junior season. Following productive performances as both a perimeter shooter and secondary creator, the guard's continued evolution for the Great 8 team Fruita Monument and the course of this summer should be closely followed. One area in particular of growth has been his transition playmaking, finding teammates through tight windows on timely bounce passes or lobs for dramatic at-rim finishes. Set to take on a much larger role on the ball, Wells' continued progression as a lead guard will be fascinating to follow over the coming seasons.     Already a notable perimeter shotmaker, particularly off the catch, Matkin follows a productive summer with steady improvements as an on-ball creator. Continuing to improve his live dribble decisionmaking deep in the paint, he surveys the floor for the extra pass, often to rolling forwards around the rim. Effective making the extra pass with either hand around the defense, his off the dribble playmaking has taken notable strides in the past few months.     Psaute has been an immediate riser for both Ralston Valley and B & B Academy, bringing a high IQ with the ball. Adept as a secondary playmaker, the guard picks apart open space to maximize his opportunities versus the opposing defense. He brings a bit more verticality than one would expect, capable of surveying the floor quickly on jump passes, often for dump off passes at the basket. Already a consistent spot-up three point shooter, the guard is truly excellent in a wide variety of roles, a high floor role player for a likely title contender next season.     An especially efficient perimeter shotmaker, the guard has repeatedly held his own at the varsity level. Contributing perimeter attempts off the catch or from ball screens at a dependable rate, all while handling the ball versus pressure. His combination of dependable handle versus pressure paired with the shooting gravity has allowed the guard to maximize his passing vision both this past high school season and throughout the summer. Stepping into a differing role at Colorado Prep, Dominguez-Savoy looks to be up for the challenge of a new setting.     Moore has been a reputable shotmaker off the catch and while stepping into pull-up attempts for quite some time, with few holes in his offensive game. The guard is excellent at operating as a secondary playmaker, attacking closeouts while reading the defense to make the extra pass. Among recent performances this past month, Moore has been particularly effective probing around the baseline for corner kickouts, maintaining a stable pace against ball pressure. This upcoming season at Douglas County will bring in a new coaching staff alongside a major role for the guard, although his notable efficiency last season leaves obvious room for growth.
