The 2026 class has had a huge summer. Several players have started to make their names known both statewide and regionwide. Many 2026 prospects earned D1 offers these past 3 months and are riding waves of momentum into their Junior years. Here's a look at the top ten Power Forwards in the newest update to our 2026 rankings. These evaluations do not include players who are in the overall top ten in the class.

One of the most high potential players in the class, Daviess County's [player_tooltip player_id='1543352' first='DeAaron' last='Watkins'] could be a really good stretch 4 or small ball 5 in college. Watkins shot 49% from three as a Sophomore and nearly 60% overall. Last week at EKU's Elite Camp, I saw Watkins dominate in the low post instead of settling for contested 3s. If he's truly starting to figure it out, DeAaron will end up a top 5 talent in the class.

Newport's [player_tooltip player_id='1359138' first='James' last='Turner'] is one of the best supporting players in the state. As a Sophomore, James averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds per game as the Wildcats' fourth offensive option. Path forward, I'm hoping to see James get more aggressive on the offensive end and become a more active rebounder in his Junior season. Turner has a boatload of potential. I'm excited to see how his game evolves in the next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2317259' first='Taeshawn' last='Adams'] is one of my favorite sleepers in the 2026 class as he plays hard and above the rim. Adams has shown a lot of potential as a 3 and D wing as he shot 8/14 from three as a Sophomore. If he manages to up those attempts as a Junior, his college stock could take off. He also needs to become a more active rebounder on both ends of the court. He's an X factor in the 11th region title race for sure.

LaRue County's [player_tooltip player_id='1702596' first='Landon' last='Blakey'] has a lot of potential and is starting to become more of an effective player as his body starts to fill out and he gets stronger. Landon could see a massive surge in his points per game this season as he's going to have to shoulder a bigger load but also needs to become a more effective free throw shooter as he got to the line a lot last season but only made 46% of his attempts as a Sophomore.

Lyon County's [player_tooltip player_id='2317256' first='Lukas' last='Breedlove'] is going to be a player to watch this season as he elected to sit out AAU this spring and summer in favor of improving his skill level and getting in the weight room. Breedlove got an early offer last year from McNeese State and could earn more if he shows a lot of improvement as a Junior. He should have a much bigger role for Lyon County as he was only the 5th scoring option for the state champs last year.
