[player_tooltip player_id='1111948' first='Austin' last='Sperry'] is a very athletic shooting guard with a high ceiling as a prospect. Austin excels at getting into the paint and finishing or finding open teammates. Sperry holds several basketball offers as well as offers to play wide receiver in college. It remains to be seen which sport he plays in college but expect Austin to have a big Senior season and be the regional player of the year as well as a finalist for Mr Basketball.

Danville's [player_tooltip player_id='2401577' first='Tre' last='Paige'] was one of the biggest movers in this rankings update and has the potential to crack the top 15 in Kentucky by the time he graduates. A big and strong guard, Paige can bully opposing defenders and get to the rim and is a good shooter when he's set. Tre should be on the radar for all in state schools that covet scoring and playmaking from the SG spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459944' first='Joseph' last='Hurt'] of Bowling Green was actually Paige's AAU teammate and they made a formidable backcourt over the course of their season. Hurt is very athletic and would have been the frontrunner to be 6th region player of the year at Fairdale before moving to Bowling Green. He could win the award in the 4th region if he replicates the kind of production he put up before moving.

[player_tooltip player_id='1582396' first='Jaunte' last='Jenkins'] is one of the more "slept on" prospects in the 2025 class and he's likely hoping a transfer to Frederick Douglass for his Senior season results in a bigger role as well as a potential run at a regional title. JJ has a good first step and excels at getting to the rim. He uses that same quickness to stay in front of opposing players and is capable of playing high level defense on the half court or in a full court pressing scenario.

[player_tooltip player_id='1148607' first='Layken' last='Lyons'] has had one of the best careers of anyone in the 5th region in recent memory but gets overlooked at times when discussing the best players in the area. Lyons is a consistent scorer and a capable defender with high academics who would be a steal for any D2/D3/NAIA school when signing day rolls around. Don't overlook Layken when discussing the best players in the loaded 5th region.
