An explosive athlete and crafty scorer, Austin just committed to IU-Indy last night. A big time scorer, Sperry will be a steal for the Jags if he can become more of a two way guard by placing an emphasis on his defense. He has a ton of long term potential in the Horizon League.

Maybe the most athletic player on this list, Sperry is a two-sport stud as he also puts up monster numbers on the gridiron as well as the hardwood. A player who has a ton of flair, Sperry can make the flashy pass and hang in the air to make an acrobatic finish at the rim or kickout to a teammate at the last second. Sperry also made shooting improvements in July which could unlock a higher ceiling to his game. Already holding a recent Division I offer from IU Indy, expect Sperry to receive more interest before making a final decision.

Sperry is one of the top overall athletes in Kentucky with excellent stop-start ability and natural explosiveness on the court. Breathitt County had a handful of players who could score off Sperry drawing help and kicking it out to them. One of the more creative passers in Kentucky, Sperry plays with a flair on the court. The biggest thing for Sperry will be consistently knocking down jumpers. He hit two time and space 3-pointers in their early morning game on Saturday and needs to shoot the ball at an adequate level. Defensively, Sperry makes a lot of gambles that either lead to steals or getting himself out of position. I’ve only gotten the chance to see Sperry with his high school program, hoping to also catch him on the grassroots level surrounded by more equal level talent.

One of the most fun players to watch in the class, Sperry has a long list of college offers and could rack up more this summer if he gets to showcase his athleticism and playmaking all season on the EYBL. Austin may be the best in the state at getting into the paint on offense.

Boone’s AAU teammate, Sperry is a very athletic guard who is excels at slashing to the rim. He’s currently shooting 54/40/73 and excels at getting to the rim as well as anyone in the entire 2025 class.

Sperry showed out vs Madisonville-North Hopkins Friday night scoring in just about every way possible. Has a great mix of athleticism, size and strength which makes him effected, especially at the high school level. He was at his best getting to the rim scoring over length and finishing thru contact. Also had good touch on his floaters. He showed he has 3pt range and can create his own shot. I look for him to hone in on getting his jump shot more consistent. If he does that he will be even harder to guard.

In what was maybe my favorite individual battle of the day, Sperry and Boone were going back and forth shot for shot at the camp. Sperry started the game with back-to-back-to-back LOUD 3-pointers, including two that were 30+ feet. Sperry was another one of the top athletes at the camp and used his burst and ability to create space to score the basketball at a high level. When watching him on the basketball court, it’s easy to see how Sperry is also one of the top football prospects in the state as well. With his athleticism and talent, he should receive Division I interest in both sports and should have plenty of options on what he wants to do at the college level.
