Mercer is playing up two age groups at the 16 U level this weekend for Wildcat Select. Finding ways to make an impact in a variety of ways, it was nice to see Mercer's motor being a driving force for his success. Mercer took a couple rebounds coast to coast and finished with his left hand. I also was impressed with the passing of Mercer, making one high level jump pass and a few simple reads to get it to the open teammate on time. His most impressive bucket was off a pull-up 3-pointer with a defender in his face. Defensively, Mercer has all the physical tools to be an impact defender at the college level and blocked a 3-pointer this afternoon. The clear top player in Ohio's 2028 class, Mercer already holds offers from Ohio State, Xavier and Cincinnati.

Wiley is a new addition to Wildcat Select and kept his game simple playing in the back-court next to two high major pieces. Wiley attacked with confidence off the bounce, making decisive moves to the rim without needing to be flashy. Getting out and running in transition got him a couple breakaway layups as the defense tried to chase him down from behind. If Wiley can continue to play with confidence and not let the ball stick to his hands, he could craft out a nice bench role on one of the more talented 16 U groups on the 3SSB circuit.

Solongo is much improved from when I last saw him around one year ago. Looking much more comfortable catching and going up at the rim, Solongo had one quick catch and dunk that looked very smooth. One of the biggest kids you'll see in the 2026 class, Solongo is a mismatch in the paint with how much space he occupies. Good to see young bigs making clear strides year over year and I expect Solongo to continue his upward trajectory next year as well.

Foster was getting buckets at an efficient rate as Wildcat Select 15 U continues to score the ball at a high level. The connection between Foster and [player_tooltip player_id='2144204' first='Jaylen' last='Gunther'] was making the game look easy when the guard pair found each other. One of the elite shooters in Ohio, Foster shot the ball at a very high level off the catch.

Indiana Elite 15 U has four Kentucky prospects on their team and they all play a solid role. I thought Rickard did an excellent job off the bench with a great first stint. Scoring on a reverse layup then blocking a shot and grabbing a defensive rebound, that was a great 30 second stretch. Still a bit of a project, you saw enough flashes from Rickard with his size, length and rebounding. A name to watch in western Kentucky's 2027 class.
