USA Youth Hoops: July Jam Fest Difference Makers 2028-2030

The classes of 2028-2030 were represented in the best way over the weekend. Basketball games were played at the highest levels while coaches got the very best from their players. These young men came out and showcased the reason why they were all difference makers for there squads.    Ray has great skills, which allow him to be effective on both offense and defense. He has the ability to shoot from everywhere on the floor. This young man showed the ability to make shots from both mid or long range. A really good ball handler who can create off the dribble and beat his man to the basket for easy scores. Has the ability to play in the post area and score in the paint against smaller defenders. Ray can also run the floor and finish on the break when the situation arises. A great rebounding forward who took pride in grabbing rebounds on both ends of the court. Good defensive player who played a pressurized style of defense that harassed offensive players into turnovers. Ray is a very composed player who has all the necessary fundamentals needed to be successful at every level of basketball.     Colt is very athletic, with strong slash-to the basket capabilities. He showed the ability of breaking down any defenders who guarded him by driving around them and attacking the basketball goal. A very dependable free throw shooter with the skills to knock down short and long range jump shots. Really good all around scorer who found ways to make shots regardless of who defended him. (smalls or bigs) He's a great rebounding guard who often went into the paint and grabbed rebounds at a high level. This young guy plays with a fearless mentality by constantly staying in attack mode while he's on the court. A solid defender who forced numerous turnovers and made plays for his team. Colt is a really good basketball player, so it shocked me to find out baseball is his true passion. Really makes me wonder how good this young man is on the baseball diamond.     A hard-nosed player who plays with aggression on both ends of the floor. Khiry plays the game of basketball by successfully using all the necessary intangibles. He can create his own shot by getting by defenders and making plays for himself or teammates. Excellent passer who had multiple assists in the game I saw over the weekend. Crashes the boards really well at the guard position which often lead to him scoring tough baskets or starting the fast break. Kyrie is a great defender who forced turnovers and had a willingness to take charges by sacrificing his body. A very sound player who does what ever's needed to help the team win. These intangibles will bode well for him at the high school level.     Jaxon is extremely good at attacking the basket, regardless of who is guarding the painted area. He showed the ability of being a good passer by racking up multiple assists to teammates over the weekend. Makes all the necessary plays needed to be successful within his teams offense. An excellent jump shooter who knocked down most of the mid range shots he took in the game I watched. Has a good basketball skill set due to running both guard spots. Jaxon is a good ball handler who can run the team as the point but projects more as a shooting guard in my opinion. Solid defender who applied constant pressure on opposing guards. He caused a lot of havoc by forcing multiple turnovers. Jaxon was really great on the defensive end of the floor. He always seemed to be in the right position to make plays for his team.     Lucas has an excellent basketball makeup. He's the prototypical floor general who ran precise plays and showed leadership skills that made his team successful. Has a great ability to distribute the ball to his teammates with pin-point assists that lead to easy baskets. A really good ball handler who showed the dribbling skills to blow by defenders and attack the painted area. Lucas has the skills to be a defensive stopper because of his tenacity. He has the ability of playing great ball-hawking defense which forced numerous turnovers. Lucas is a steady point guard who plays the game to win!!     Aggressive player who has a variety of ways to score the basketball. John showed the ability to penetrate the lane by using good ball handling to get by defenders. Attacking the basket and hitting mid-range shots are a major strength for this young man. He also showed the ability to knock down free throws in clutch situations. In the game I witnessed over the weekend, he stayed in a constant mode of aggression on the basketball court. John showed promise on the defensive end of the court by playing tough defense on opposing players. This style of defense made life difficult for the offensive player and how successful they could be. He also shot passing lanes for steals which lead to fast breaks and easy baskets for teammates. John is a really good all around player who has a game style that translates to the next level of play.     Deric has the ability to lead his team as the top scorer if he needed too. He showed all the necessary skills needed to score in a various ways. Good ball handler who used his dribbling ability to drive past defenders and make positive plays for himself or others. He takes it strong to the basket, knocks down mid-range shots and has no problem stepping out and nailing three pointers. Deric is a steady defender who stays attached to his man on the defensive end of the court. Watching this young guy play, I saw a player with a lot of promise. He excels at multiple skills on the basket court, which is always a good thing.
