The 2024 Phenom Summer Havoc was held in Bermuda Run, North Carolina this weekend giving the chance for some of the top Grassroots programs in the Carolinas to play in front of College Coaches for the final time this Summer. Several prospects from the Palmetto State took advantage of this opportunity including these four 2025s and one Unsigned Senior who stood out to me on Saturday. Check them out below:

[player_tooltip player_id='1972146' first='Malachi' last='Cooper'] leads off my second list of 2025 Standouts from the Phenom Summer Havoc thanks to his strong showing off the bench in Upward Stars Gold's matchup with Team Swish. Cooper provided an instant impact off the bench, knocking down 4 of his first 6 shots, with a couple of them coming in a Stars' first-half run. Malachi is a very good shooter from behind the arc and doesn't need a lot of the ball to be effective on the offensive end of the floor. He rarely wastes dribbles and will move the ball quickly if his shot or a driving lane isn't there. Cooper is also a good on-ball defender on the other end with long arms and active feet capable of keeping his matchup in front and forcing turnovers.

Trey was back in action this weekend in Bermuda Run after missing the SCHSL Team Camp and E.P.I.C. Hoops Summer Slam with an injury. He is a prospect I am higher on than most around the state, and if his consistency increases, he could be a problem for Ridge View this high school season. He worked extremely hard in Upward Stars Gold's win over Team Swish, particularly on the glass. Smith hauled in 11 Rebounds using his size, strength, and instincts to dominate the boards and limit extra possessions for the opponent. He can also be a solid rim protector, especially if he is playing and helping in the paint. On the offensive end, Smith didn't have a large role but was a factor with second-chance points and with his back to the basket.

CJ is another one of Upward Stars Gold's bigs who was impressive on Saturday in North Carolina. He put up 13 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 3 Blocks a win with impressive play on both ends of the floor. Terrell is a confident and capable stretch big with a sound jump shot from the mid-range and behind the arc. He also proved to be more than just a shot blocker on the defensive end with a very impressive play where he jumped a passing lane, leading to a run-out at the basket. CJ has good length and showed that he could play as the lone 5 or with another big due to his skill on the offensive end.

Swindler stood out for [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] Poole on Saturday at the Phenom Summer Havoc. He showed good flashes in multiple areas of the game, showing his versatility as a wing prospect. I am confident in Devin's ability to affect the game as a 3 & D player and he is more effective in that role than as the #1 guy at the high school level. He has a very strong frame and uses his physicality smartly to make positive plays on both ends of the floor. Devin is also a good shooter, as he displayed when down 3 3s in the win over Team EAT on Saturday. Swindler will have some impressive plays in transition too, where he can show off his athleticism and ability to finish at the rim.

Jordan is the one Unsigned Senior on this list, but would be a late steal if given the opportunity. Of the games I watched in Bermuda Run, Sullivan had the best individual performance, going for 30 Points and the game-winner in overtime in a matchup with Team EAT. Jordan is a fast and strong guard capable of playing either position in the backcourt. He had lots of success scoring the ball from all three levels of the floor, getting downhill, pulling up in the mid-range, and shooting off the catch from behind the arc. Sullivan did more than just score the ball and had a full stat sheet, putting up 7 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 2 Blocks, and 4 3PM with go with the 30 Points.
