The Adidas 3SSB league is one of the most competitive Grassroots Leagues in the country and it features several talented prospects across multiple teams and age groups from the state of South Carolina. It recently concluded with it's Championship Event in Rock Hill, South Carolina, with Utah Prospects winning the 17U Division, Austin Rivers SE Elite winning the 16U Division, and New World winning the 15U Division. Although none of SC's teams came away with silverware, there were still plenty of positives to take away including the performances of these five prospects from 3SSB's 17U Division who had the best statistical outputs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145334' first='Jordan' last='Watford'] was arguably Upward Stars' best and most consistent player throughout the 2024 3SSB Season. He has good positional size as a 6'4" Point Guard and is dependable on both ends of the floor. In the half-court, Jordan excels as a passer and scoring the ball around the paint. Although he is mechanically sound and efficient in the mid-range, Watford did not shoot the ball much from the perimeter and was just 4-14 (29%) from three this season. However, it never seemed to be a major issue for the Stars because he is so talented in every other area of the game. Since the end of the High School Season, Jordan has collected offers from Georgia Southern, Presbyterian, Wofford, and Mars Hill.

Kaleb is one of two players from the Palmetto State who finished their Grassroots Careers with Garner Road. He had a nice shooting week in Rock Hill including a game with 3 3PM and a game with 2 3PM. Evans is one of the best self-creating Guards in the State, so it was encouraging to see that he could also be a spot-up shooter and make plays when driving closeouts and from the wings when playing with Garner Road. Kaleb won a State Championship in 5A with Lexington High School last season and his most recent offer came in June from Presbyterian College.

Franklin is the other prospect who played with Garner Road for the final 3SSB event of the season. He started the Spring with USC Unleashed and was impressive with his scoring ability. Abijah was more of a wing with the North Carolina-based program, but still showed he could put the ball in the basket while not having in his hands every possession including an efficient 16-Point performance on 7-10 Field Goal shooting in his 3SSB debut. He currently holds offers from SC State, Jacksonville, Appalachian State, Miles, UNC Asheville, Francis Marion, Presbyterian, and Norfolk State.

Tristan was dependable throughout the season for the Stars but really turned it on during the 3SSB Championships, including a 23 Point performance with multiple made threes. Thompson could be reliable as a Guard or a Wing at the next level because he has good size, plays key roles on the defensive end, and can take over the offensive end at times. His stock among College Coaches has increased dramatically thanks to his play this Summer as George Mason, North Carolina A&T, Florida International, Coastal Carolina, USC Upstate, East Tennessee State, UNC Greensboro, UNC Asheville, and Morehead State all offered in the month of July.

Brian is one of the best rim protectors in South Carolina and displayed that with Upward Stars SE this Season. He is extremely long and despite his more slender frame can impact shots from Bigs and Guards alike. He is very good when he can defend Wings or Stretch 4s and can roam the paint alongside a true Center, but he is also capable of being an effective on-ball perimeter defender using his fluid movement to stay in front of Guards and force turnovers. Although his offensive game could use some time once he gets on a College Campus, he will be a lob threat and has shown flashes of a post game with Keenan High School. Brian's most recent offers are from UNC Asheville, USC Upstate, and Holy Cross.
