NEPSAC Showcase at Avon: Mickey’s 2027 Day 2 Standouts

Avon Old Farms in Avon, Connecticut is now the host location and players from around the region are coming to show off their skills in front of all levels of college coaches. The talent has been impressive, so let's look at some 2027 standouts from Day 2 of the NEPSAC Showcase in Avon!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2470937' first='Milos' last='Vasic'] (Hotchkiss, 2027)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Vasic showed a lot of promise when he was on the floor. He could handle the basketball and moved well with it. Catch and shoot threes were no hard task and the rebounding effort on the defensive end was also there. He even guarded opposing wings well even with his thinner frame which stood out the most.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1707498' first='Blake' last='Bastani'] (New Hampton, 2027)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bastani is a confident shot taker and shot maker, being outwardly deadly at points. His form is smooth from three-point territory, and can get it off quickly without his feet being all the way set. Additionally, he took defenders off the dribble and used floaters to score in the mid-range area.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2470928' first='Michael' last='McNamara'] (Thayer, 2027)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McNamara is a big wing who can create his own shot. He was comfortable shooting off the bounce from all over the court and getting to his spots. He was also effective when shooting in catch-and-shoot scenarios.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2411216' first='AJ' last='Reinertson'] (Lawrence, 2027)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reinertson played superbly as a supporting piece for his team. He was on the defensive glass for a guard and wrestling for rebounds. He moved the ball around the court playing unselfishly, while knocking down open corner threes with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2470857' first='Reece' last='Ayala'] (Milton, 2027)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ayala showcased a smooth handle with the ball and looked quick off the bounce. He utilized drive and kicks and got his teammates open looks while also getting to the rim for layups. Defensively, he guarded well on the ball and was very active on that end too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
