The MIAA playoffs are here! Five divisions of MIAA basketball action will commence this week, and over the next handful of days, I'll have previews for divisions one through three—including final four and championship predictions, sleeper teams, and stars to watch. I'll then have additional articles highlighting some players to watch from each of those three divisions.

With the number of teams included in the brackets, it was impossible to see every team play. With that being said, I've done my research and have watched as much MIAA hoops as you can as one human being (think you've watched more? I'll challenge you).

This is one of the most exciting times of the year, and I can't wait to see how this year's tournament plays out.

Staiti has the ability to get hot unlike basically any other player I've seen in D3. The 5-foot-11 guard is an excellent shooter and when he makes a couple shots, the basket starts to look like an ocean to him. Defenses often jam him and don't allow him to get his shot off, but he can occasionally get to the rim and make plays for himself that way as well. If he can get hot at the right time, he could help Abington make a run at the final 4.

Lepine leads a Martha's Vineyard squad that has a 17-3 record this year. The 6-foot-6 forward is an excellent shot blocker and defensive presence in the paint—he's disciplined with his contests and doesn't foul too much, and he has excellent timing when it comes to helping over from the weak side. Offensively, he uses his size and length to finish against smaller players.

Ngintoundem is a physically imposing wing/big man who does a really good job using his body to bully smaller defenders. He has a knack for getting to two feet in the paint and being balanced before finishing with his right hand at the cup or above the rim. Ngintoundem also has a big-time motor and will compete on the offensive and defensive glass all game.

MacPhee is an excellent shooter who has done a commendable job leading a talented Stoneham squad this season. The 6-foot-1 guard is a flamethrower who does a really good job setting hit feet when coming off screens and has a beautiful, above-the-head release that makes it difficult to get a good contest on him. Some added strength on drives to the rim would be huge for him, but the junior has another year to figure that out. Stoneham is already in the sweet 16 after a win over Weston last night, so perhaps they can keep it rolling.

Lombardi is an extremely talented 6-foot sophomore who has been Nantucket's best player this season. The combo-guard can score with the ball in his hands via dribble moves and crafty finishes at the rim, but he can also knock down shots from the outside and has a super quick and pretty release. My favorite part about Lombardi's game is that he always knows what he's going to do with the rock on the catch, so he makes on-time, quick decisions.

Ferguson has had an awesome season for Lowell Catholic. He's a relentless rim attacker and takes contact very well for a skinny, 6-foot-2 guard that's only a sophomore. He has good quickness and change of speed/direction, and he can make shots from the outside and the mid range as well. Lowell Catholic already had a nice preliminary round win against Saugus, and they'll look to continue a Cinderella run against Salem.

Marcella has led a balanced Pembroke team that already won their preliminary matchup against Gardner a couple days ago—and they have a winnable game against Martha's Vineyard coming up. The 6-foot-1 guard is a crafty finisher at the rim and loves the quick right-handed finish on the left side. Also, despite his odd form, he's a knock down shooter from long range who can make shots off the catch or off the dribble.

Harrell is the younger brother of Jaylen, and he's already making waves in the MIAA as a freshman. The 6-foot-1 guard is an excellent shooter off the catch; for a 2029, he has a really nice looking release and some pretty solid footwork. He also drives closeouts well and is continuing to develop his IQ on the ball. If he can get to his brother's height, he could be a nice player.

Stoermer is a 6-foot-6, powerful big man who's way too big for most forwards in the MIAA D3 to handle. He has good footwork and touch in the post—and he takes contact pretty well at the rim—but he can also step out and make shots from the perimeter. Stoermer is a smart player and a nice anchor for a Falmouth team that could make a nice little run; they've already beaten Nipmuc handily in their preliminary matchup.
