Several of the state’s top rising seniors, Class of 2025 prospects, went head-to-head in the first two contests with a lot of excitement in both matchups. Game One went to Team Red as they took down Team White 76-60. Then, in Game Two, Team Red won once again by a final score of 100-81. In the evening, two Future Games were played featuring some of the top talent from the Classes of 2026 and 2027. Game One went to Team White 102-72 and then Team White won again in Game Two 84-80. Let’s take a look at some of the top stock-risers from the Future Games.
We just had highlighted Ford earlier this week as a top performer at Tuesday night’s PAC League. Then, on Friday evening, he stood out once again at the Indiana Basketball All-Star Classic. It is clear that this 5’11” guard is ready to step into a primary scoring role at Brebeuf Jesuit as a junior. Ford is a dynamic shot-creator with the ball in his hands showcasing his ability to score from a variety of spots on the floor all while creating for others as well. He finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in a blowout 102-72 victory.

The young stars at Liberty Christian caught a lot of the headlines coming out of Friday’s Indiana Basketball All-Star Classic. However, another hometown product turned in an excellent performance as well. Lewis, a 5’10” guard from Anderson High School, finished with 13 points and 5 rebounds in the first Futures Game on Friday evening. He is super quick with the ball in his hands and does a great job of getting into the paint consistently off of the dribble. Look for him to blossom into a larger role this season alongside some other talented players at Anderson.

As we’ve mentioned already, it was a great showing at Anderson University on Friday for a lot of the local talent from both Anderson High School and Liberty Christian. Martin, one of the three standout freshmen on the Lions who came just a possession away from making the Class 1A state finals, finished with a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 102-72 win. He is excellent when getting downhill to the rim where he can use his athleticism to finish against size. That athleticism, along with his willingness to play through contact, is what allows him to be such a good rebounder from the perimeter as well.

Matelic put together a big sophomore season at Speedway High School averaging 14.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to earn his way into the Indiana Basketball All-Star Classic. Then, on Friday night, he proved his beloved finishing with 14 points against some excellent competition. He is a bigger guard that uses his size well when attacking the basket off of the dribble or elevating for a jump shot. Look for Matelic to have a big month of July heading into what should be a breakout junior season for the Sparkplugs.
As a coach, being able to have a high level of trust in your point guard is a key factor. Miller is absolutely the type of lead guard that you can turn the keys over to and trust that he is going to make the right decisions on the court. The New Castle High School product helped Team White to a hard fought 84-80 win on Friday night at the Indiana Basketball All-Star Classic finishing with 13 points. He is an excellent ball handler that doesn’t get sped up against pressure and consistently can find open teammates when attacking the basket. Impressive performance for him against some very good competition.
We’ve written about him a few times recently here at Prep Hoops Indiana as this 6’0″ guard from Triton Central High School continues to make a name for himself. First, he earned Indiana Crossroads Conference Player of the Year honors as a sophomore averaging 17.0 points per game on impressive 55.8/44.8/81.0 shooting splits. Then, he had a strong spring on the AAU circuit. Finally, he was among the standouts at the Indiana Basketball All-Star Classic finishing with 13 points and 6 rebounds while helping lead his team to a win. He should continue to garner more attention around the state throughout the summer.
