I headed up to Lynden, WA last weekend to check out some varsity summer league action. There was over 25 teams in the tournament and it was loaded with a ton of standout players from all ages and levels. Here are some of the best big men from the weekend.

Kaden is a stud in the making. He is just a freshman, so did not see to much time on the varsity team last year but next year will likely be one of the main bigs for the Lyncs. He has one of the highest motors I've seen from a 2027 player, rushing the glass hard to secure the board for his team. He blocks shots well and has a soft touch around the rim. He will only get better as time goes on.

Brant is an absolute monster, using his frame to his advantage when on the court. He rebounds well as he can out body opposing players easily. Heppner has great footwork down low and has a plethora of post moves that help him get open. He not only displayed an improved deep shot on the weekend but also showed he can handle the ball at a higher level, being able to run the point guard if the Lions need a different look.

Mantaj plays with patience on the court, knowing what he is going to do with the ball before he even gets it. He has an efficient deep shot, knocking down shots easily with a defender in his face or not. Singh can play inside or out, but was excellent at the high post over the weekend. He was able to catch then turn and shoot many times but also found his big man down low for an easy dump down layup.

One of the top 2026 players in the state was a pleasure to watch. He is one of the most athletic players I have seen play, flying all over the gym and dunking on people with ease. Ford knocked down the mid-range well, backing down his defenders and hitting his turnaround jumpers easily. He has shown improvement when handling the ball as he was able to find his teammates for easy buckets all weekend.

Connor played great for Kings, who were missing some key guys the first day of the tournament, missing [player_tooltip player_id='1850308' first='Sebastian' last='Cooper'] and Cole Adams. With Kings not having much height, they have to utilize Adams' athleticism. He seemed up for the challenge, as he played with more aggressiveness all weekend. He set solid screens, being able to roll hard or pop out for an easy three. He ran the court at a high level too, filling gaps in transition.
