New Curie Wing Emerges in AyoDosElite 17U Win over [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last='']

We got our first look of the spring at AyoDosElite who is named after former top ranked prospect and current Chicago Bulls star Ayo Dosunmu. They took on a solid [program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] squad and behind a breakout performance from an emerging Curie rising senior they won 47-41.

It was [player_tooltip player_id='2415816' first='Jahkil' last='Jackson'] who stole the show in this one for AyoDosElite. Curie has a magical way of having unknown prospects emerge as impactful players heading into their senior season. Here is another one. The 6'3” two guard is a long and lanky athlete that can really knock down shots with a feathery touch hitting five of them along with scoring in transition and showing off his athleticism defensively scoring 18 points. St. Patrick 2025 6'2” shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2422874' first='Anthony' last='Favia'] knocked in some big threes in the win. Fenwick 2025 slick guard Dominic Ducree flashed on both ends with his defense and shot making.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076459' first='Breakaway' last=''] got a big performance out of [player_tooltip player_id='1598712' first='Hudson' last='Kirby']. The Geneva 6'5” small forward brought his lunch pail in this one! Skilled and strong bodied wing that scored on tough drives, posed up, and got on the offensive glass. Can pass off a live dribble as well finishing with 16 points. Rolling Meadows combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1545134' first='Jack' last='Duffer'] does what he always does which is knock down shots from the perimeter particularly the corners, show a soft touch finishing game, and facilitate off the bounce as he recorded 11 points.

Purvis Drains 8 Triples Leading Fueled by Faith Athletes 16U against AR Elite

Fueled by Faith Athletics got a massive performance out of Yorkville Christian 2027 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2125654' first='Jordan' last='Purvis'] in their 63-55 win over AR Elite. The 6'2” 2027 was playing up an age level and didn't seem fazed at all. He poured in 8 from beyond the arc hitting big shots over and over. You could hear the crowd on court 10 gasp every time he let it fly like they knew it was going in. Plus shot maker with a quick release went for 25 points. Nice ball handling duo on this squad as Romeoville point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2348813' first='Seth' last='Covington'] and Yorkville Christian's [player_tooltip player_id='2125688' first='Tray' last='Alford'] each played well. Alford is a 5'9” guard that pushes the pace with his speed and was a solid passer scoring 11 points. Covington is another quick guard that is a nifty passer and can knock down shots from deep scoring 10 points. Newark 6'5” 2027 big man [player_tooltip player_id='2409519' first='Cody' last='Kulbartz'] is a name to track. Flashed on seals, put backs, and showed skill potential. Lot of potential to be unleashed here.

For AR Elite it was their De La Salle duo that was their top performances. [player_tooltip player_id='2323307' first='Lucas' last='Johnson'] is a long and lanky wing that has a lot of physical upside. He has a fluidity to his game with the way he moves. Gets on the glass, to the foul line, and has a soft touch finishing game. Flashed a mid-range jumper as well. Athletic wings like this 6'3” De La Salle standout are prospects to monitor! [player_tooltip player_id='2399236' first='Xavier' last='Porter'] was the ultimate glue guy. The shooting guard defended at a high level, got loose in the open floor, and has a burst with the ball in his hands. Plays with a high-motor.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars'] 2026 Guards Show Upside in Victory against Region Elite

[program_tooltip program_id='2075524' first='IBA' last='Illinois Stars'] 16U scored an opening night 72-55 win against Region Elite. [player_tooltip player_id='2323275' first='Adam' last='Flowers'] is the top prospect for the Illinois Stars. He got off to a bit of a slow start, but then turned it up a notch in the second half. The long and rangy wing won off the bounce for acrobatic layups one after another. Showed a glimpse of his passing on the move and hit a mid-range jumper for a strong second half. Glenbard North point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2454188' first='Maharri' last='Thatch'] emerged in this one. The lead guard is a slick ball handler that has a plus mid-range game and makes difficult layups around the hoop. Minooka 5'10” point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2454180' first='Brady' last='Hairald'] is a tough lefty lead guard that plays with a lot of grit. Likes to get in the mid-range for pull ups, use his float game, and score with scoop shots.

Evan Timmons of Region Elite brought the toughness inside for the Indiana squad. Finished on pick/roll dishes, had hook shots, and more crafty finishes by the 6'3” undersized post. Will Spurgeon was a spark plug at the lead guard spot with his ability to get in the lane and to the line while hitting an occasional jumper.

M14 National 1 16U Squad Has Prospects to Track

There were several prospects that caught our attention for M14 National 1 16U in the finale on Friday night. Gabriel Jensen (Geneva) and R'Mani Sims (Oswego East) were outstanding on both ends. Sims was a force defensively with his quickness at the point of attack turning steals into points. Jensen also pressured the ball while being a big time shot maker from three hitting three of them in the first half along. Solid passing feel as well. St. Charles North 6'3” shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2217951' first='Cooper' last='Mellican'] is a skilled wing that can score inside and out. Posted up for hook shots, scored through defenders for and-1s, hit a three, and put it on the deck. Also had a nice swat. Glenbard West 5'10” lefty guard [player_tooltip player_id='2409259' first='Jacob' last='Harvanek'] hit shots on the move and played with good pace. Really liked the mid-range area.
