Without a doubt, Memorial Day weekend is one of the biggest basketball weekend's of the year. With teams from all over the country descending on Las Vegas, it's the perfect time to get a long look at a lot of prospects. The action packed weekend provides an opportunity to get in depth coverage of players, evaluating them for upcoming rankings and recruiting coverage. Let's evaluate some class of 2026 prospects.    Thomas was a player that I mentioned as a <a href="https://prephoops.com/2024/05/memorial-day-classic-friday-night-standout/">Friday Night Standout</a>. His ability to stretch his game out on the floor has turned him into a much more versatile offensive player. He's probably now closer to 6'4 and his vision and off the bounce passing ability provides him with stockrising potential.     Gomez is a wing that plays with a motor. It showed up most on the defensive end, as he did a good job guarding wings in space. His athleticism allowed him to be effective in transition, finishing breaks at the rim.     Denson is a player that continues to impress. His speed and quickness impact games on both sides of the ball. He's able to cause turnovers, both on ball and when playing passing lanes. He's improved his ability to finish, making his speed a huge advantage when playing in up tempo games.     Versatility is what comes to mind with DAP. He's a positionless player that did a good job showing a couple skills. His playmaking was effective, along with his ability to compete on the glass making him one of the better grab and go candidates in his class.     Hunter is doing a good job of positioning himself for a stockrising. He's quick and has shown a lot of explosion, to the point that it seems once a game, he's throwing down a thunderous dunk, or making an athletic highlight play.     Jackson is threating to be an All Showtime type player. The lefty was a consistent, dedicated bucket getter, a skill that he has shown the last few times, I've been in the gym to lay eyes on him.     Kennedy is a developing big man. He's got a good frame, and a surprisingly nice touch. He showed this weekend, that he can even stretch the floor out to about 15 feet. Let's track his development over the next couple of months.     One of the highest skilled guards in the class, Cummins showed two valuable skills this weekend. He was good in catch and shoot, finding a home in the corner to quickly get his shot off. He also showed a ton of leadership, organizing the offense, getting good looks for teammates during the game I watched.     It used to be a rule that all High School Basketball players had to either run Track or Cross Country. Rhodes is exactly why. The high motor forward looked terrific, and backed up his physique with a ton of energy, winning 50/50's and finding buckets around the rim. It was one of the best performances, I've seen the 2026 guard have.     Really liked what I saw from Bell this weekend. His improvement was obvious, as the physical, downhill, driver took to the outside to do his damage. He knocked down three straight corner threes in the game I saw, proving to be one of thee weekends more dynamic scorers.
