The 2027 class might have only one played one varsity season, but that won’t stop them from making an impact this AAU season, especially in the backcourt. Here are the 2027 under the radar shooting guards to track.
Keyshawn Franklin Keyshawn Franklin 6'2" | SG Eastern | 2027 PA , 6’2 Eastern
Franklin has the potential to make noise this May with his ability to score inside and out. The 6’2 guard has a nice release on his jumper as he wastes little motion and makes opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. Franklin does more than just shoot as he can attack closeouts off the dribble and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He finishes nicely around the rim and slides his feet on the defensive end. Franklin’s shooting combined with his ability to get to the rim off the bounce makes him one to watch this May.
Jalen Bell Jalen Bell 6'2" | SG Egg Harbor | 2027 State NJ , 6’2 Egg Harbor
Bell had a big debut varsity season as he poured in over 300 points. The 6’2 guard has a solid handle, which he uses to get into the lane off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. Bell is more than just a slasher as he has a good shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated passer and uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense. Bell is a gritty guard prospect who is looking to have a strong spring and summer.
Devin Williams Devin Williams SG Eastern | 2027 State NJ , Eastern
The second Viking on this list, Williams is primed to have a strong spring. He has a quick release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Williams moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He has an underrated handle and plays with good anticipation on defense. Williams’ ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his stock in a big way this spring.
Lis Banishi Lis Banishi 6'2" | SG Patrick School | 2027 NJ , 6’2 Patrick School
Banishi is an intriguing guard prospect because he has the ability to play on the ball at times. The 6’2 guard uses his handle to get by his defender and finishes nicely around the rim. Banishi can also score in the mid-range and rises up with confidence on his jumper. He moves well without the ball in his hands and works hard on the defensive end. Banishi can put up points in bunches and is looking to do that throughout the course of the spring.
Noah Perna Noah Perna 6'0" | SG Southern | 2027 State NJ , 6’0 Southern
Perna filled up that stat sheet for the Rams in 2023-24 as he finished with over 350 and nearly 200 rebounds. The 6’0 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and is unafraid of drawing contact. Perna rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt and can shoot either off the catch or dribble. He is a strong rebounder and pushes the pace well in transition. Perna had eight double-doubles in his debut varsity season and is looking to carry over that play into the spring AAU season.
