The quick 6-foot-1 combo guard from Roosevelt was all in with everything and he soaked in everything that he could. So while what’s next is yet to be determined, there was no question that White enjoyed being in the moment and part of a tremendous win.
“It was really fun getting close to some of the guys that we played against and all these great players,” White said. “Shout out to Shirts and Skins for getting everything right for us, you know, it was really fun going to Nike campus and all that. And then playing with the best players in the Pacific Northwest, I feel like I always belong, so getting to play and getting recognized for that is pretty fun.”
The selection to the Northwest Shootout was in many ways a career reward for White, who finished off a four-year career at Roosevelt as the school’s all-time leading scorer in recorded history with 1512 points. He noted that this past year might have been the best.
“Senior year was fun, definitely one of my favorite years,” White said. “Terrence came back and it was really fun to play with him again, and playing with Trillo (Morris), Owen (Nathan), those guys and the other guys, it was really fun. We didn’t win it in the end but, you know, we get over it and we move on to the next chapter. I’m looking forward to trying to win something bigger.”
The next step will be college – the question will be where and what level he’ll start at. White noted the top three schools he’s talking to Central Washington, Eastern Arizona, and Monterey Peninsula and while he currently in the information gathering stage, he knows some moves will need to be made sooner rather than later.
“I’m looking at everything right now and looking to make my decision here by probably the middle of May,” White said. “The clock is ticking, so I’m taking some trips soon.”
