Goggins caught my eye last year at the 252 HoopState TipOff at Greenfield with his backcourt play with Berean Baptist. He made quite the impression at the lead guard spot as he checks in at No. 41 in the 2027 rankings debut. He averaged 19.2 PPG and 1.4 RPG on 33 percent shooting from behind the arc in his freshman season. He knocked down 50 3-pointers to finish ninth in the NCISAA 2A in 3-pointers made, according to MaxPreps. He’ll suit up with Mentality Elite on the independent scene this spring/summer.
Highlights
Davis is a shooting guard prospect to get to know out of Garner. He spent most of the season on the JV squad but he’s a featured name on the 3SSB scene with Garner Road during the spring/summer as well. He’s a dynamic guard prospect who can score the ball in a variety of ways but can also handle distributing the ball and making things happen within the flow of the offense.
Baird is a budding prospect to get to know out of Quality Education Academy in the 2027 class as he debuts at No. 43. Don’t be surprised to see him shoot up the ranks. He’s shown he can attack off the bounce with reckless abandon to finish with authority at the rim and can also spot up on the perimeter to knock down shots and make things happen. He’ll be one to watch this spring/summer with Team CP3 on the EYBL stage.

Driggers was quite the frontcourt presence for Heide Trask to make his varsity debut as he checks in at No. 44. He posted 9.5 PPG and 7.2 RPG while utilizing his 6-foot-5, 270 pound frame in more ways than one in the painted area. He’s a top prospect on the hardwood and the football field with the Titans as he begins to carve out a role for himself at the PF spot.
Mcgrath is quite the lead guard presence already for the Hoggard varsity squad as he makes his debut in the 2027 rankings No. 45. He’s a sharpshooter with a high-IQ for making things happen with the ball in his hands. He put up 7.2 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 1.4 APG and 1.0 SPG while knocking down 50 3-pointers on a 33-percent clip in his varsity debut. Look for his status to grow as a consistent scorer over the next few years.
Lowe checks in at No. 46 in the rankings debut for the class out of Jordan. He’s an emerging sharpshooter in the class to get to know with the Falcons after posting 8.6 PPG and 3.1 RPG on 39 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from 3-point land in his varsity debut. He ranked third among freshman in the 4A East in 3-pointers made (39) according to MaxPreps, in 2024. Check him out with Team United on the EYBL scene this spring/summer.

He’s a 6-foot-2 prospect who’s shown he can put it on the floor and knock down shots on the perimeter after averaging 6.0 PPG and 3.3 RPG with the Chargers in his freshman debut. He’ll face a name to keep an eye on with Garner Road on the 3SSB stage this spring/summer.

Neve is a versatile wing/forward presence out of Carson to get to know in the 2027 class. He’s shown he can operate on the perimeter and in the painted area with his size at 6-foot-5. He’s a presence who’s constantly moving with and without the ball to make an impact when he’s on the hardwood. He’s currently leading the Carolina Riptide this grassroots cycle following a productive season on the varsity stage with the Cougars in the South Piedmont Conference.

DeBerry is an emerging forward presence to get to know out of Olympic in the Charlotte Metro area. He’s shown he can be a two-way presence on both ends in the painted area after averaging 4.3 PPG, 5.8 RPG and 1.4 BPG for the Trojans during the regular season. He saw a bump in his conference production with 6.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 2.2 BPG while shooting 52 percent from the field. He knows how to use his length in a variety of ways to be effective in the frontcourt. Look for him to play a role on the grassroots stage with The Skill Factor this spring/summer.

Hill rounds out the first edition of rankings for the 2027 class in the state at No. 50. He’s a sizeable 6-foot-4 prospect who’s shown he can operate at either forward spot on the hardwood at DH Conley. He made quite the impression in his varsity debut with the Vikings, producing 8.2 PPG and 5.6 RPG on 42 percent shooting from the field. As he continues to improve his ability to handle the ball and perimeter shooting ability, he’ll only continue to rise in the class. He’ll suit up with Team Trezz Chase this grassroots cycle.
