Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Mercer is a really quality piece that can play multiple positions on the floor as he’ll be running with No Guts No Glory NC UA Rise 17u this spring/summer. Mercer has great physical traits for a wing guard and is a true two way player. Mercer does a great job playing within himself and adjusting to whatever role is necessary to get the job done on that given night. He’s got a smoothness to his game that really can’t be taught, it feels innate in who he is. He’s capable of providing positive contributions on the glass where he’s going to have a physical advantage in most matchups. UA Rise is a perfect circuit for Mercer to showcase his skillset surrounded by other talented players. He’s a no brainer next level guy and should start to garner more recruiting attention of various levels if he can be a producer and winner like he’s been in his career thus far.

Mercer is a player that just brings a level of production to the table despite not being the primary option on offense. Does a great job excelling in the flow of the game. Knows where his spots are, gets to them, and hits with efficiency. He’s comfortable attacking mismatches off the bounce, knows how to move without the ball, and does a nice job maintaining a rebounding presence. Best ball is still ahead of him, but really helped his team with his performance on Friday night.

Mercer is an athletic guard presence to get to know out of Wayne Country Day in the NCISAA. He’s a 6-foot-2 prospect who’s shown he can put it on the floor and knock down shots on the perimeter after averaging 6.0 PPG and 3.3 RPG with the Chargers in his freshman debut. He’ll face a name to keep an eye on with Garner Road on the 3SSB stage this spring/summer.

Mercer was an impressive 2027 prospect to get to know with WCDS when it was all said and done. He showed he could knock down shots on the perimeter with purpose and defend with his length at 6-foot-3. He knocked down four 3-pointers to pace the backcourt with what he could do.
