Hillman checks in at No. 31 in the 2027 rankings debut following a strong varsity debut with St. Stephen’s in the NCHSAA. He led the Indians with 15.9 PPG, 4.1 APG, 2.2 RPG and 1.4 SPG on 67 made 3-pointers in 2023-24. He’s a young floor general who’s just getting started with showing his ability to lead a team. He’s a prospect who finds way to make his presence felt in a variety of ways on the floor.
West played a reserve role with Trinity Academy Raleigh this season in the 2027 class and he fared well in showing flashes of his shot-making ability in spurts. He’ll certainly hit the ground running with Garner Road on the 3SSB stage following his varsity debut with the Tigers on the NCISAA stage. He’s a dynamic 6-foot-2 shooting guard who can create off the bounce and can get hot in a hurry shooting off the catch.
Witherspoon is yet another prospect out of New Hanover who finds himself in the latest rankings debut at 33. He’s an athletic forward who’s slowly finding his way in the frontcourt rotation after producing 4.6 PPG and 2.9 RPG as a contributor in the starting and reserve spaces. He’s got a good feel for the game inside the arc which allows him to affect the game. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on with WCBA this season along with a number of other top ranked names in the class.
Gattis is a name who lit up the scoring charts with his ability to score the ball in a hurry out of Community Christian in Wilson. He’s a 5-foot-8 lead guard who’s shown he can fill up the stat sheet in an efficient way after averaging 18.1 PPG, 3.6 APG, 2.8 RPG and 2.6 SPG to lead the varsity squad in his debut. He debuts at 34 in the 2027 rankings after shooting 53 percent from the field and 38 percent from behind the arc while knocking down 53 3-pointers. He’s one of a few emerging names to get to know with the Cyclones.
Blanchard checks in at No. 35 in the 2027 rankings debut out of Beddingfield. He finished second on the varsity squad this season in scoring with 10.4 PPG while showcasing his ability to make plays, rebound the ball and defend on the opposite end. He’s a 6-foot combo guard who plays with a ton of energy when he’s on the floor which doesn’t go unnoticed. He’ll be one of a few names in the class to catch with Team Trezz on the grassroots stage this spring/summer.
Lucas checks in at No. 36 in the 2027 rankings debut as another familiar face from the Fab40 Middle School Showcase. He spent time on the JV squad for most of the year where he was able to develop his versatility to operate as a guard/wing prospect. He’s figuring out how to be an effective defender with his length as well at 6-foot-4. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on with Team Wall on the grassroots scene this cycle.
Jenkins is a budding name to get to know in the 2027 class out of North Raleigh Christian Academy. He’ll suit up with Team Curry on the UA stage this grassroots cycle after putting up productive numbers in his varsity debut on the NCISAA stage. He finished third on the squad with 9.0 PPG along with 3.0 RPG and 1.1 APG. As he continues to find his confidence with the ball in his hands, look for his stock to grow in the class.
Highlights
Perry is a confident floor general out of Carson who makes his debut in the 2027 rankings at 38th. He’s a heady point guard with a high-IQ for making things happen with the ball in his hands who earned All-Rowan County Conference honors this season with the Cougars. He’s shown he can impact the game as both a scorer and playmaker given his ball-handling and decision-making on the floor. Catch him with Carolina Riptide on the grassroots scene this spring/summer.
Smith makes his debut in the 2027 rankings at No. 39 out of Cox Mill but don’t expect him to stay at 39 for too long, given his upside. He’ll be one to keep an eye on with Team CP3 on the EYBL stage this cycle after putting up 13.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.3 SPG in his varsity debut. He showed he could be a presence on both ends of the floor while finishing second on the team in scoring and second in rebounding. He’s a strong-framed wing/guard at 6-foot-3 in the class with a bright future ahead of him.
McBride is quite the sharpshooting presence rounding out the Top 40 prospects in the 2027 class out of Croatan. He produced 11.9 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 2.1 APG and 1.9 SPG as quite the contributing presence in the varsity backcourt in 2023-24. He led the team with 67 made 3-pointers on 35 percent shooting from the floor as well. He’s a top shooter to get to know in the state of North Carolina. He’ll run with Commit 2 Achieve AAU on the grassroots stage this spring/summer.
