On Saturday March 23rd I attended the King of the City hosted by Hoopers On1y located at the Phhacility in Phoenix.

I viewed mainly 17U mixed in with some 16U or teams playing up in 16U. I ended up watching exactly 20 teams locally.

My All-Tournament Teams are based on the one game I viewed the team. These are NOT prospect rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956218' first='Marcus' last='Isaac'] N/A (Hoop Code 14 National)

A long shot blocker is very fluid as he can defend from inside and out on the perimeter. He is an out of area rebounder and shot blocker. He has a clean stroke from the free throw line and scores around the rim with good hands. He could be a day-1 contributor at a varsity or a star JV player waiting to fill in the following year depending on what school he attends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386978' first='Jaydon' last='Hayes'] Willow Canyon (Hoop Code 14 National) (Pictured)

A stong framed scoring guard can fill it up. He scores from mid-range and can hesitate and get by his opponents. He will do the two foot jump stop and rise up to score in traffic. He is a good free throw shooter and seemed to love it from around 15-feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386955' first='Ajay' last='Blakes'] Heritage Academy Maricopa (AZ Venom Nxt 17)

A small school standout was my first viewing of him. He has a stronger frame with long arms and high skill. He can score getting to the basket and scoring from the perimeter with catch threes and mid-range jumpers. He uses his length in the passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386956' first='Desmyn' last='Beavers-Smith'] Trevor Browne (AZ Venom Nxt 17)

Another older newcomer for me is a long and athletic wing who will defend with his length and rebound. He can score with catch threes, runners and is a sneaky good passer up the court. He should have a big season at Trevor Browne.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386954' first='Changa' last='Aley'] Kellis (AZ Legacy 17 Elite)

A long power forward covers a lot of ground on the defensive end. He rebounds out of his area and blocks shots with his length. He is a little raw on offense but plays with a motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386962' first='Mark' last='Gutierrez'] Cholla (Tucson Unity 16)

An undersized pure point guard with a very high feel for the game. He is a next level passer as he anticipates where his teammates will be and throws the rock. The lefty has a nice handle and can handle pressure and smartly knows how to change speeds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2387517' first='Jachin' last='Reynolds'] AZ College Prep (AZ Gremlins Gray 16)

A somewhat raw but wildly athletic and very long power forward. He can score on drop step moves and is active around the basket. He is a very quick leaper to rebound at its highest point and is a menace to try and score on inside the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386958' first='Isaiah' last='Gill'] Canyon del Oro (Apex Athletix 16)

A gifted freshman pure point guard is really fast up the court. He is very long in the passing lanes and will drive and kick it to a shooter. He can make passes with either hand and plays with good pace to the game. He may breakout next season for the Tucson team.
