The Prep Hoops Chitown Tip-Off kicked off the weekend with a few games on Friday night. Here are standout players from those games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105191' first='Hunter' last='Gawron'] - [program_tooltip program_id='2076267' first='Powerhouse' last='Sports'] (Niles North) 6'6 2025

Gawron is a fundamentally sound player who has some bounce in his game. Hunter started the game with an alley-oop dunk and then followed that up with a three. As the game went on he scored well from below the rim using good footwork and balance to score in tough situations. He finished the game with 14 points and several boards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105267' first='Dillon' last='Fountain'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation']) Perspectives 6'0

As a returning player for [program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation'], it's quite natural that Dillon gets his fair share of attempts and that he did on Friday night. Fountain looked the part of a three-level scoring PG. He made several shots down the stretch of a double-digit game. His shots brought the game down to two possessions. He has a good touch and feel of the game. Took advantage of a mismatch later in the game scored some pretty tough shots. He led all scorers with 28 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1289073' first='Keegan' last='Van Kauwenberg'] [program_tooltip program_id='2076029' first='Wisconsin' last='Crusaders'] 2025 6'3

Keegan is back in Chicago and he brought his insane shooting ability with him. Keegan was a prospect who I wanted to see after having strong performances last year on the PHC. Kauwenberg has a smooth but quick release on his shot and he used that to his advantage as he hit 5 in the game versus All-In. Not limited to the three he made some difficult shots with defenders in his face using a turnaround fadeaway to get some space. Keegan finished the game with 25 points in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1977254' first='Luke' last='Smith'] - All IN Athletics (Addison Trail) 6'1 2025

Luke is a steady guard who played with lots of composure while his team was down double digits. Smith didn't panic as he played within the game and was very balanced in looking to score or facilitating to teammates to get his team back to single digits. Luke hit a pair of threes, scored off layups in transition, and led his team in assists with 6. He finished the game with 14 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321399' first='Rae'Qwon' last='Rogers'] - Work Foundation (Bowen) 6'2

I finally got a chance to evaluate Rogers and not have to gameplan for him like during the season. What I knew going into watching him play is that he's a physical upper-body scoring guard who has the build to take bumps and finish through contact. Rae'Qwon has also been in the gym adding to his jump shot as he hit a couple of threes in his second game of the night. Rogers is dangerous when he gets his first step on the defender and is explosive around the rim. Against [program_tooltip program_id='2075385' first='Chicago' last='Grinders'] he led [program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation'] with 16 points.
