About Keegan
Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Van Kauwenberg was steady, impressive and productive while scoring 26 points in the Ghosts’ win over River Falls. He was particularly effective in the second half when he scored the majority of his points. Van Kauwenberg has the size and jumping ability to rise up over smaller defenders and his shot is very smooth and consistent. He also is an unselfish player as he is averaging 5.8 assists per outing through 13 games. The Green Bay recruit can play either guard spot, but has improved his ball handling and passing to the point where he is very comfortable at the point-guard position. On the campaign, Van Kauwenberg is averaging 20.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Ghosts.

Van Kauwenberg had a huge spring/summer for the
Wisconsin Crusaders
program as he consistently knocked down long-distance shots while also getting into the lane off the dribble and scoring or distributing. His length, skill and ability to play either guard spot really stood out as he took his game to another level. Van Kauwenberg received three NCAA Division II scholarship opportunities for his strong play this summer as Michigan, Tech, Rockhurst and Missouri S&T offered the emerging prospect. As a junior, Van kauwenberg averaged 18.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He teams in a talented Kaukauna backcourt with junior

Keegan had a monster game on Saturday afternoon to push his Wisconsin Crusaders team into the quarterfinals. It didn’t really matter who the opposing team put on him, he was finding ways to get into pockets of space to get off a jumper from three or mid-range. When given just a foot of space he was able to elevate to shoot, and with his high release point there wasn’t any stopping him. Van Kauwenberg has such a smooth shot, and showed some fluidity getting to the rim for a couple crafty finishes as well. So good at moving off the ball to create open looks for himself.
