Matt Huhn
Matt Huhn
Huhn put his name on the map at the Storm Classic in Grand Rapids. During high school season, he showed a much improved jumper that he made with efficiency. This weekend, he had that jumper, but also showed an ability to initiate the offense with and hit the open man with a pass. Huhn will be a player to keep your eyes on the rest of the spring and summer.
Simpson was a huge part of the Michigan Playmakers 17u run to the title. It’d be unfair to call him Robin to Joshua Gibson Joshua Gibson 5’11” | PG Birmingham Groves | 2025 State MI ‘s Batman, simply cause Robin couldn’t hold a candle to what Simpson did. He had 19 points in the championship win and ended the game with a 2 handed throw down. Simpson showed elite athleticism as a forward and a bounciness under the rim that opponents had a very tough time with.
Day was absolutely terrific with REAL 17u in Grand Rapids. He showed that he can be an elite shot maker and scorer, even against top notch competition. Day’s straight line speed with and without the ball made him a very tough cover. Plus, he can pull up off the dribble and bury a jumper. Day’s weekend was highlighted by a 37 point explosion in a win against Indiana Game.
Highlights
This doesn’t surprise me 1 bit that he has a spot in this article. Is it just me or does Champagne always seem to stand out at the Storm Classic? Or it could just be really in any big event. Either way, he’s a gamer and he did again this year. Champagne is a top notch shooter that has a knack for finding space and creating shot opportunities. The NO Wolfpack 17u star is almost guaranteed to have a huge spring.
Lee had a busy, but very successful, weekend. After a handful of football recruiting visits, he suited up for the West Michigan Lakers Lakers 3SGB squad and had himself a weekend. There’s no denying that he’s an elite all around athlete with quickness, speed and shiftiness. Those were all on display this weekend. Lee used those physical gifts on his way to a 16 point game that highlighted his weekend.
