Champagne was nothing short of lights out in Oxford’s win against Farmington. While everybody basically knows that he can shoot the ball, he showed that his game is much more than that. Champagne showed that he could attack the mid range. He came off a screen and buried a mid range jumper and used a shot fake and a bank from mid range. Champagne was really good off the dribble handoff, connecting on 2 triples from the top off the same play. He also used the retreat dribble and attack to finish at the rim used a jump stop and a pivot to finish off 2 feet.

Champagne had a really big weekend. First, he led his Oxford team to a quality win against Grosse Pointe North with a game high 26 points. We see Champagne do this on the regular, so what’s notable? Well, he became the Oxford High School all time leading scorer. Tip of the cap Jake!

Champagne is a player that I’ve been very high on for a while now. It seems like every summer he basically dominates. A huge part of that domination has been his incredibly efficient shooting. Champagne fills it up at a very high percentage. I think his effective jumper carries on to the next level.

Champagne was just consistently outstanding from the miute grassroots season started. The NO Wolfpack legend was his typical hot shooting self. Really just like he was in 2023. Champagne showed that he was always a high percentage shooting threat. This year though, his ability to see the floor and feed teammates in scoring positions also stood out.

Champagne definitely stood out to me at the Oakland Team Camp. It wasn’t his numbers. At this point we all know that he can shoot and score. What really impressed me at this event was his unselfishness and willingness to create for teammates. Not just that, but he looked accurate and effective as a passer as well.

As much as I would love to have only “Yoopers” on my scouting report, I could not refute the outstanding performance of this young man over the past two days. Jake is an absolute machine when it comes to playing around the rim. Transition basketball is one of the strongest parts of his game, and he does this very well. He scored multiple buckets against players much larger than him, as he is able to separate and create space.

Champagne was doing Champagne things this weekend with North Oakland Wolfpack . He attacks grassroots season and had another great weekend. He was once again a very high percentage shooter and walked away averaging 14 points per game. Champagne also showed the ability to see the floor and find teammates in scoring position. He did this to the tune of a 5 assist per game average.

This doesn’t surprise me 1 bit that he has a spot in this article. Is it just me or does Champagne always seem to stand out at the Storm Classic? Or it could just be really in any big event. Either way, he’s a gamer and he did again this year. Champagne is a top notch shooter that has a knack for finding space and creating shot opportunities. The NO Wolfpack 17u star is almost guaranteed to have a huge spring.

Champagne has been a frequent flier in my articles. Why? Because he consistently plays his way on them. Champagne led his team to a tight 43-40 win against Rochester. He broke his personal career high with a 30 point game.

This one’s just kind of greedy of me. I’m on the Jake Champagne Jake Champagne 6'2" | SG Oxford | 2025 State MI bandwagon after seeing him play this summer. The kid is talented. I want to see him show off his shot, shot selection and ability to find space at City Slam.
