Players will participate in showcase games against other players in their respective classes. The event is the perfect opportunity for players looking to either get themselves into the rankings, or increase their current rankings. The event takes place March 10th at Mojave High School in North Las Vegas. The event has had a ton of interest, here’s a look at some players im looking forward to seeing participate in this year’s Venom Rankings Run.
Didn’t get a chance to see much of Brooks during the high school season, so really looking forward to watching him in this setting. Last we saw, he was displaying an improved face up game, to match length and rebounding ability.
Excited to lay eyes on Roberts, he flashed his talents during JV action with Powerhouse State Champs Gorman. I’ve heard good things about his progress and am looking forward to seeing if the rankings run could springboard him into a huge grassroots season.
The class of 2028 game is loaded and expected to be one of the best ones of the event. It features Terry Mckinney Terry Mckinney 6’6″ | SF NV , who is in the running for one of the top spots in the initial rankings. The long agile wing is a high flyer, with the ability to put together a few highlight plays during the showcase.
Taylor is a powerful guard that is a downhill force. He’s coming off MVP honors at the Las Vegas Middle School Combine, and looks to stake his claim as one of the top players in the city with a strong performance in the rankings run.
Young got minutes for a Mater East squad that was tantilizingly close to capturing a 3A state title. Really eager to seeing his overall skills on display in this showcase environment.
Size is always at a premium whether during a season or during a showcase game, so the 6’6 Fowler is a much welcomed site. First thing for bigs these days is can they defend ball screens and or in space? This wide open showcase style event will be the perfect place for the big fella to display those skills.
Im really excited to watch Thomas perform. This is expected to be a huge growth for the talented Mojave forward, and it all starts right here at the Run. You always hear that “There’s more than scoring to the game” however, I would be lying if I didn’t say I’m interested to see how Thomas scores his buckets. Has the potential to be one of the better inside, outside threats at the game.
Bell was one of the players that I had targeted for this event. Ironically it was at Mojave, that I first got to check him out. He was physical and played downhill in attack mode. He backed this up with a solid sophomore season, now the guard gets an opportunity to complete in a showcase style contest against his peers.
