Names like Will Riley Will Riley 6'7" | SF Phelps School | 2025 State #29 Nation PA (numerous DI offers) and Meleek Thomas Meleek Thomas 6'4" | CG Lincoln Park | 2025 State #5 Nation PA (slew of DI offers) immediately come to mind.
Today we want to dig deeper into the Class of 2025 rankings and review five players who used the 2023-24 high school season to increase their recruiting stock significantly.
Below is a review of five “stock risers” from southeastern Pennsylvania’s Class of 2025 who college coaches need to keep an eye on this spring and into the summer.
22 to 12… Kevair Kennedy Kevair Kennedy 6'1" | PG Father Judge | 2025 State PA – 6’1″ / Father Judge / Philly Pride UAA / Combo Guard: Kennedy is a quick, instinctive, and versatile guard who this season sliced and diced opponents with his dribble drive skills. His ability to create opportunities for himself and teammates off the bounce is next level. Once Kennedy (45% FGAs) has gotten into the teeth of the defense he can score via floaters, lay-ins, or stop-n-pop jumpers. His 3-point shot continues to progress. As a distributor, Kennedy excels at dropping dimes to teammates in the dunker spot as well as drive-n-kick scenarios. This season Kennedy posted 17.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6 assists and 2 steals per game. After the 2023-34 season he was a 1st Team All-PCL and 2nd Team All-Area selection.
77 to 65… Wayne Fletcher II Wayne Fletcher II 6'2" | SG Central Dauphin | 2025 State PA – 6’3″ / Central Dauphin / York Ballers / Combo Guard: Fletcher is a fast and athletic guard with a well-rounded skill set. He is a coach’s kid, so you know he owns a high basketball IQ. Fletcher is a multi-dimensional offensive player. He produces points off the dribble, from behind the arc (43 3PM) and in transition. During his junior campaign, Fletcher posted two 30-spots and multiple games of 25+ points. This season Fletcher averaged 18.7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals per contest. Those stats earned him a 1st Team Mid-Penn Conference (Commonwealth Div.) nod. Fletcher holds offers from Kutztown and Pitt-Johnston.
97 to 80… Ben Natal Ben Natal 6'2" | PG Central York | 2025 State PA – 6’1″ / Central York / York Ballers / Point Guard: For a year now, Natal has quietly been one of the top floor generals in Pennsylvania’s junior class. But after helping CY win the PIAA 6A state title this month, Natal’s cover is now blown. Natal (1,000+ pt. scorer) can score at every level, rebounds well and is an impressive live-dribble distributor. He displays amazing point guard instincts as he knows when / how to get his teammates involved. This season Natal stuffed the stat book with 15.6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 dimes per night. As a nice bonus, Natal is a plus defender.
143 to 100… Jamal Hicks Jr Jamal Hicks Jr 6'2" | CG William Penn Charter | 2025 State PA – 6’2″ / Penn Charter / Philly Revolution / Combo Guard: In his first year at Penn Charter, the extraordinarily versatile Hicks posted a breakout season. Hicks owns the handles, quickness, court vision, and IQ to run as an elite point guard. Those assets also make Hicks a tremendous open court guard. In the half-court he can slide to the shooting guard spot and destroy opponents with his 3-point shooting and slashes to the cup. As a junior Hicks recorded 12.4 points per game while shooting 34% from behind the arc. Plus, Hicks is an outstanding team defender who keeps PC connected at that end of the court. The upside for Hicks is unlimited which is why several DI schools are expressing interest.
274 to 250…Jaidyn Moffit – 6’2″ / Bensalem / East Coast Power / Small Forward: Moffitt’s stock-rising junior year included posting several double-doubles and being named as a 1st Team All-Suburban One League selection. As we have mentioned previously, he reminds us of a young Charles Barkley. Moffit is a powerfully built athlete wit sneaky quickness. This season Moffit proved he could score at all three levels. That was especially obvious in his 27-point effort versus CB South. As his 3-point stroke continues to develop, Moffit will become a matchup nightmare. In 2023-24, Moffit contributed 18.4 points and 7 rebounds per contest.
