Kamarr Bridges Kamarr Bridges SG Verona | 2025 State WI -Miller – 2025 – SG – Verona
A prospect I’ve liked since last year, Miller stepped up in the second half and helped Verona, not only survive an offensive onslaught, but put them in the driver’s seat at times. This kid has some stuff to him — tight handles, positional size (6-4), explosive leaping ability, and a smooth stroke from beyond the arc. Bridges scored 19 points, including 13 in the second half. The junior got it done in different ways. If defenders put a hand down, he could give a jab and calmly let it go from 3-point range. In traffic, Bridges showed some pop and intriguing change of direction at 6-foot-4. Don’t challenge him at the rim either, because Bridges can rise, even off two feet and won’t shy away from a shot blocker.
Tavian Crawford Tavian Crawford 6'2" | CG Sun Prairie West | 2025 State WI – 2025 – SG – Sun Prairie West
Thought Crawford was a big reason why the Wolves won on Saturday. The junior guard had a big second half, but it was often when those buckets came. Right after Verona scores, Crawford often stymied the momentum by scoring quickly in possessions. Crawford also did it all for SPW. He finished with 29 points (12-19), 10 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks. Crawford also took two charges on Saturday. Verona just didn’t have a matchup for Crawford at times as he was able to get defenders on an island and go to work. Crawford did a great job of making the defender respect his drive and countering with a little step-back jumper. Currently unranked, Crawford is a player I’m eager to see this spring/summer as he might be a big sleeper in this class.

Chris Davis Jr. Chris Davis Jr. 5'10" Madison East | 2025 State WI – 2025 – SG – Sun Prairie West
Just another night at the office for Davis, who scored a game-high 43 points. The efficiency continues to be through the roof for a guy that scores as many points as Davis with the amount of difficult shots, often outside of the flow of the offense as he takes. Davis was 17-of-31 from the field, including 13-of-24 inside the arc. Battling an ankle injury late in the game, Davis was able to fight through and make a couple of clutch shots without really getting his normal lift-off. The quick trigger, 3-point shooting ability in isolation or off ball screens is special, but it’s the body control in traffic that really excited me. Davis is so under control, goes to the chest of the defender to take away their shot blocking ability, can square himself up in mid-air, and then score off one foot if he needs to. There were a lot of times when it looked like Verona had momentum. Davis just was never fazed by the moment and continued to deliver.
Drew Murphy Drew Murphy 6'4" | SF Verona | 2025 State WI – 2025 – F – Verona
For Murphy to get 26 points in this game was something — because he went long stretches without touching the basketball. It was a guard-dominant, up-and-down game that maybe doesn’t suit Murphy’s play style, but the junior forward still made quite the impact. A lot of times you’ll just see bigs take themselves out of games like this. Instead, Murphy started controlling what he could control and the offense eventually came. The 6-foot-7 forward was making hard cuts, screening guys open, swinging the ball around the horn, and taking advantage of a matchup when it came his way, and doing his job on the defensive glass. I think it speaks to the type of teammate and player Murphy is, because he’s the leading scorer on this Verona team and it’s only human nature for him to want to ‘get his.’ When you’re being ignored, for lack of a better term, like he was early, Murphy instead let the game come to him. I thought was a very mature response. It paid off, because the Wildcats started looking for him in the second half and Muprhy delivered — using his versatility to beat guys off the bounce, his size to rise and fire over the top, and his perimeter skills to get into high percentage areas where he could make plays for himself and others.

Tre Poteat Tre Poteat 6'1" | SG Verona | 2025 State WI – 2025 – SG – Verona
This was the last game for Poteat, who will enroll early and play power-five football next year. Man, if Poteat focused all his attention on hoops, he’d be a Division 1 player on the hardwood as well. The junior guard came out guns blazing and scored 24 points in the first half alone. Poteat hit four 3-pointers in the first half and got to the foul line at will to get Verona off to a fast start. Poteat also drew two fouls against Davis early, which ended up forcing the Wolves to move their best player to one of Verona’s role players defensively. The cornerback skills really translate to the hardwood for Poteat when it comes to twitchiness and changing direction, high-pointing the basketball, and fighting through contact. You don’t see a lot of football guys with this type of skill and basketball IQ.
