These players have shown significant improvement over the summer/fall periods and made notable impacts on the court this season. For this list, look at some impressive 2027 stars that could play big-time D1 ball.
Chase Weismiller Chase Weismiller 6'2" | PG Sickles Highschool | 2027 FL | CG | 2027 | Sickles | @chase_w2027
What a season Weismiller put together in his first chance at varsity high school play. He ended up leading his team in scoring with 14.5 points per game as the 6-2 freshman displayed a good three-point shot combined with his quick release and just a solid overall offensive game. He’s also a good defender who likes to push the floor after causing turnovers or grabbing boards. Weismiller was selected to the Western Conference American Division second team and was a top 25 all-star selection from TBB Coaches for his productive play. Look out for him to continue progressing heading into the summer period.
Cayden Daughtry Cayden Daughtry 6'0" | PG Calvary Christian Academy | 2027 State FL | G | 2027 | Calvary Christian Academy | @CayDBaller
Has to be one of the notable risers in the South Florida area. Has earned Division I offers already with time to build on recruiting. Looks smooth with the ball in his hands. Dominates the off-season AAU period. One of the top scorers on his high school team as a freshman averaging 12.7 points per game. Has displayed a solid ability to be a multi-level scorer with a solid jump shot when moving to his spots or working off offensive sets.
Nolan Nelson Nolan Nelson 6'7" Patriot Oaks Academy | 2027 State FL | F | 2027 | Creekside | @NolanNelson2027
The dual-sport athlete is listed at 6-7, 210 pounds with the ability to be mobile and fluid because of his overall athleticism. He’s a problem near the rim and is becoming more well-rounded with his game which includes a solid jump shot to help stretch the floor. Nelson led his high school in scoring this past season with 13.6 points per game while shooting 61% from the field. He also crashes the boards as he grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game with 1.4 blocks to add on the defensive end. This kid has the tools and potential to develop into a premier recruit.
Jaydan Silvera Jaydan Silvera 6'6" | PF Boyd Anderson | 2027 FL | G | 2027 | Nease | @ryan_gornto
Gornto was one of my top standouts at one of our PH Florida events that saw him shoot the ball from three consistently while giving maximum effort on the defensive end. Has a good frame already where he can add some size and weight to be effective at the varsity level. He scored 10.5 points per game this past season in which I came away really impressed with his ability to stay locked in and be a deadeye shooter from start to finish. Have to get eyes on the rising freshman during the summer period.
Ayden “Scoot” Donald | G | 2027 | Tampa Bay Tech | @SkootDonald
Had a chance to watch this kid go to work this fall season and Donald had to be one of the more exciting 2027 guards to see compete. This kid is electric with the ball in his hands where he uses speed and agility to get past defenders where he can finish with a jumper or dish to open teammates. He’s a rising true point guard prospect with more growth in his frame and overall game will have college coaches interested in his potential.
Kayden Calhoun Kayden Calhoun 6'0" | CG Canterbury | 2027 FL | G | 2027 | CHS | @WillieCalh48572
Calhoun finished as a top-five 2027 scorer in the state with 17.8 points per game this season as a rising freshman. He’s a smooth guard with solid handles and a nice jumper that he uses in the pull-up game or in pick-and-roll sets. One of the better freshman ISO scorers who can get it done with the ball in his hands.
DJ Alderman DJ Alderman 5'6" | PG Hilliard | 2027 FL | G | 2027 | Hilliard | @dennisalderman2
Alderman has been one of the young risers on a talented Hilliard team who will have more opportunities for his game to shine this upcoming season. He’s still been able to show off his developing dribbling skills combined with the quickness and nimble moves to get open shots or chances near the rim. He plays with a good motor and has the basketball IQ to be an effective point guard product.
