Stone Bridge PG JJ Stanford JJ Stanford 6’1″ | PG Stone Bridge | 2027 State VA had a great season, leading Stone Bridge in points. JJ is one of the more exciting players because he has such a high ceiling. JJ has a lot of room to grow and things he needs to clean up. JJ is a great shot creator and a knockdown shooter. He has great size for a freshman guard and is a good athlete. If JJ cleans up some of the mistakes you naturally see from a young guard, like silly turnovers, and deals with some of the highs and lows in games, he will be unstoppable. JJ is ranked 19 right now, but he has the potential to get into the top 10.
Centreville is a young team with talented players. Soren Kyne Soren Kyne 6’0″ | CG Centreville | 2027 State VA caught my eye towards the end of the season. I love what Soren brings on both ends of the floor. He is a great finisher and a good spot-up shooter. He’s an opportunistic defender and does well as a driver. Soren had a great end to his Freshman season and will continue to improve.
Ashton Graves
Ashton Graves
John Champe Freshman Ashton Graves is one of the more underrated players in the state. He had a great year with some big scoring performances and finished as a second-team all-region selection. Ashton is an elite shot creator and has excellent size. He can make plays for his teammates and make some difficult shots. His handle is elite, and he’s a good athlete. Ashton already has some D1 looks, and no doubt, heading into his Sophomore year, many more people will know Ashton’s name.
When I watched McLean this year, one of the things I kept noticing was how active Simas Kacerauskas Simas Kacerauskas 6’4″ | SF McLean | 2027 State VA was on defense. He gets his hands in passing lanes and is a defensive playmaker. His instincts are fantastic, and he racks up blocks and steals every game. Simas is a great spot-up shooter who can create offense by knocking down jumpers over defenders. Simas drives the ball well and is a talented finisher on either hand. Simas’ stock rose this year, and it will continue to rise.
Makel Minor
Makel Minor
I had heard about Makel Minor in January and how he had been putting on insane scoring performances. I took the time to watch him a couple of times late in the year, and he was ultra impressive. Makel is around 5’10, but his quickness and skill more than makeup for what he lacks in size. He has a great handle and is an elite shooter. Makel is a crafty finisher, and he’s fearless in the paint. He’s also a tenacious defender and will be one of the best scorers in the state if he isn’t already.
